【Yao's Famous Restaurant】Long-established udon with a focus on dashi Taste of a long-established shop loved for over 40 years! Exquisite curry udon where the dashi is the deciding factor Founded in 1982, I visited "Sanuki Udon Yasaka", which has been loved for a long time in Yao. Looking at the menu, the extraordinary commitment to dashi and ingredients is conveyed, raising expectations. This time I had the "Chicken Curry Udon", and this was simply exquisite! From the moment it was served, a wonderful aroma of dashi drifted in the air. Taking a sip, the spicy kick of the curry is followed by the deep umami of bonito and kelp. This rich, thick soup clings tightly to the chewy homemade noodles, making it extremely delicious. It was so delicious that I wanted to drink every last drop, and before I knew it, even the soup was completely finished. Inside the shop has a calm atmosphere with a sense of history, and it's a wonderful shop where you can feel the warmth of the staff. I fully understand why it has been locally supported for many years. Next time, I'd like to try the kitsune udon topped with their signature fried tofu pouch (oage). Thank you for the meal!

I had the tempura bukkake udon. It was smaller than expected, so I additionally ordered an inari sushi. They seem particular about Yoshino fried tofu, but how should I put it? Rough? The texture was unique and not really to my taste.

The dashi was prepared with great care and was very delicious. However, I felt it was a bit of a waste that the noodles were just ordinary noodles, likely due to cost reasons.

This shop was inside a supermarket nearly 40 years ago. I've loved it since those days and frequented it often. At that time, the aroma of bonito flakes used for the dashi filled the air, and it was a very delicious udon. At some point, they opened their own separate shop and have been operating since. It feels like they have leveled up through research and ingenuity. The mentaiko udon I had this time is delicious! Glad I chose it. A huge success! It's not just simply adding mentaiko, as written on the menu, you can tell they have thoroughly researched the dashi. Delicious. Last time I had the Bukkary, and that was also delicious. The longtime owner is still working hard together with his wife, and now their daughter is also helping out. It's a good shop. A shop I want to keep doing its best forever.

What is Bukkary? Wondering about that, I went out to eat it without thinking. Udon consisting of bukkake udon topped with seasoned fried tofu simmered in curry dashi. The dashi and the udon itself are of high quality. Plus, this spicy fried tofu pouch acts as an accent, making it supremely delicious.
