The observation deck is just a short walk up the stairs. It felt like we were visiting the garden of an elderly couple? It was very well maintained so the scenery is easy to see. At most observation decks, I'm often disappointed by overgrown trees, but this place is truly soothing. There are lots of chairs, and it's a good spot to wait for the cable car too.
View on GoogleOn a clear day, you can see the whole Osaka Plain, all the way out to the sea! There are lots of chairs set out, and some covered areas too. The memory notebook holds records left by all sorts of people.
View on GoogleTakayasuyama Observation Deck, which offers a sweeping view of the vast Osaka Plain, is reached by taking the cable car from Shigisanguchi Station on the Kintetsu Shigi Line for just under 10 minutes and getting off at Takayasuyama Station. It's a few minutes' walk — you arrive right after climbing the stairs where Gojukara Garden is. If it's clear, I think the view will satisfy you.
View on GoogleAfter exiting the ticket gate at Takayasuyama Station on the Kintetsu Shigi Nishi Cable, go up the stairs to the right (south) and you'll find the observation deck. Volunteers always keep it maintained, so you can see flowers of every season. From the observation deck you get a panoramic view of the Osaka Plain, and in the distance you can enjoy scenery stretching to Osaka Bay, Rokko, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and even Awaji Island. The hiking trail heading south from the deck connects to the trail down to Onji Shrine. It also connects, by going around Takayasuyama Cemetery, to Shigisan Nodoka-mura and Shigisan Chogosonshi-ji Temple. Heading down west connects to the Hachibuse Trail down to Korikawa, but the route gets hard to follow partway, so be careful. There's a notebook at the observation deck where visitors write down their impressions.
View on GoogleAn observation deck where you can see all the way to the sea. Since it's right by the cable car station, I think even kids and older people can drop by easily.
