Located on the bank of the Hirano River, at first glance it looks like a park or rest area, but this is a renovated and restored “tsukaiba” — a place where cargo was loaded onto and unloaded from the “Kashiwara-bune” boats, which carried crops and other goods all the way to Kyobashi in Osaka via the Hirano River, a branch of the old Yamato River (Kyuhoji River, Nagase River) before it was rerouted into the present-day Yamato River. Apparently, back then there were multiple tsukaiba in each village besides this one. There are several information boards, but the one that looks oldest is so badly deteriorated it's no longer legible. Since they went to the trouble of preserving this place, I'd like them to put some effort into maintaining and preserving that part too.

It's a place that feels like a park or a little plaza where neighbors occasionally stop by on walks. The information board explaining its history has deteriorated and is no longer legible.
