A local confectionery shop with 2 branches in Yao City and 1 branch in Higashiosaka City. Their mini cream puffs were said to be famous, but this time I got cakes!! Fruit Shortcake 500 yen Rare Cheesecake (forgot the exact name) 580 yen Shibukawa Chestnut Mont Blanc 550 yen The only one I ate this time was the Mont Blanc. The Mont Blanc has a slightly moist tart crust at the bottom. Right in the middle is one chestnut and fresh cream, with Mont Blanc cream on top. Not too sweet and delicious. The tart crust seemed to use liquor, giving it a subtle aroma. It wasn't too strong so I think it can be eaten without any peculiarities. Personally, I'm on team tart crust for Mont Blanc, so I was happy.
View on GoogleVisited the Nishi branch the other day and came here after hearing that the main branch's mille-feuille is delicious. I heard it's safer to make a reservation, so I made one before coming. When I think of mille-feuille, I imagine one with strawberries on top, so I was surprised by the simple one with just pie and custard. With the custard added afterwards, the pie is surprisingly crispy! This thin pie gives an irresistible texture. The custard is sweet, rich, and delicious. Powdered sugar is sprinkled on top of the pie, giving it a solid sweet feeling overall. You probably won't encounter this kind of crispiness often, so it's worth eating. It's quite crispy so it might get messy if you don't put something underneath w It was 300 yen each. Card payment is also accepted.
View on GoogleAfter lunch, I visited Patisserie Bourse Main Store, located about a 3-minute walk from JR Yamatoji Shiki Station. There is no parking lot at the shop. Inside the shop, there are many cakes and baked goods lined up. I took out: Baked doughnut (plain) ¥280 x 2 Baked doughnut (matcha) ¥280 Baked doughnut (chocolate) ¥280 Baked doughnut (strawberry) ¥280 It was moist and soft, with moderate sweetness, and I enjoyed it deliciously.
View on GoogleVisited a shop I was curious about when I came to Yao City. Cakes and baked goods are famous, but among them, the petit chou is the most popular, so I tried buying it. What makes it different from ordinary cream puffs is that despite the rich custard cream, the dough is moist, not heavy at all, easy to eat, and delicious. It was so light and easy to eat that I regretted not buying more (laughs). I want to come again and eat the petit chou.
View on GoogleA small cake shop near JR Shiki Station. The selection was average, but I bought pudding and petit cream puffs. The pudding (250 yen) was carefully strained so the smoothness was outstanding and very delicious, and the petit cream puffs (82 yen), although small, were also deliciously eaten. However, the price of the petit cream puffs remained the same even if you bought 10, so I would have been happy with a little extra.
