Lately, I've become more conscious of nutritional balance, so I made my first visit to Hokusetu Shoku Shien Kenkyujo, a place I've been curious about for a while. I entered right as it opened at 11:30. This time, I had the "Pork Ginger Set Meal (Weekly Set Meal)." The blackboard in the restaurant details the PFC balance and the amount of vegetables (about 170g!), which gives a sense of security knowing that a registered dietitian has carefully designed the nutrition. The main meat dish, as well as the side dishes like the salted Chinese cabbage and tuna, were perfectly seasoned and delicious. I was full from the mixed grain rice and plenty of fresh vegetables. I'd love to visit again when I want a healthy meal!

Since it opened in July 2026, I was a bit hesitant to enter a restaurant with no reviews, but I decided to visit. For lunch, I had the special chicken curry. It's a spiced curry, but not too spicy, just the right amount, and it was delicious (though it does have some heat, so it might not be suitable for children). It came with plenty of vegetables, which felt healthy and I was happy about that. There are counter seats and table seats, and when I visited, there were about 3-4 groups, but it was a calm atmosphere and I spent my time comfortably. ========= Since I was satisfied with the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant, from here on are my personal opinions on what could be improved... ① Use of Generative AI The illustrations and post text used in the menu, website, and social media (Instagram) feel very much like they use generative AI, which I feel is a bit of a waste. Especially the photos of the food, which are the most important part; by going through generative AI, they look artificial, which somehow subtly kills the appetite. Since you are putting so much effort into making the food, I feel it would be more attractive to use simple, original photos of the food. (Also, the **double asterisks characteristic of generative AI** that appear on Instagram and the website are also a factor that makes it feel artificial.) ② I want the information I need to be easier to understand! Since it just opened, it might be unavoidable, but it was inconvenient that I couldn't know what kind of menu was available or see actual photos of the food without checking Instagram or the website (so I've attached them here). I wish you would post menu images on Google Maps or add a link to jump to Instagram from Google Maps! ③ Can cafe menu items be ordered during lunch time?? The restaurant itself is divided into lunch hours and cafe hours, but the menu I was given during lunch also listed items that looked like cafe menu items (drinks and desserts). I wondered if cafe menu items could be ordered during lunch time, but since I didn't ask, the conclusion is unclear. If there is a set time for ordering (or if they can be ordered at any time), I thought it would be kinder to have that stated on the menu. === Although I wrote a lot in the second half, this is a restaurant I would like to visit again. Next time I want to try the weekly set meal!
