An udon shop with a strength in meat in Hattori Tenjin, a fiercely competitive udon area. The recommendations would be the "Niku Kamatama" and the signature "Horumon Udon." The Niku Kamatama is suji-type meat simmered sweet and savory, poured over kamaage udon along with a raw egg. Soy sauce comes on the side, but the meat already has a nice sweet-salty flavor, so I think it's best eaten as is. The Horumon Udon has horumon simmered as is, and the meat flavor comes through nicely in the broth. Both are udon that meat lovers will love. I heard the owner used to work in the meat business, which made sense. At night there's also chiritori nabe and motsu nabe making use of horumon-type meats, so I think it's a place drinkers can enjoy too.
View on GoogleGood evening🌕 Hardcore fish-loving🐟 guy in his 40s here✨ This time it's💁♂️ Teuchi Udon Hanadaiko in Hattori Tenjin🚶 I'd been curious about it for a while, so I charged in🦬💨 The udon is chewy and delicious😋 The broth isn't heavy either—just my kind of flavor❣️ On top of that, the owner and the female staff had a really great vibe, and the way they called out to customers was excellent! A shop others should learn from☺️ There are still lots of menu items I'm curious about, so I want to go again❣️ Thanks for the meal😋
View on GoogleOn my way back from visiting Hattori Tenjingu and Hattori Sumiyoshi Shrine, I found a neat little udon shop. It was hot, so I had the "Ume Sansai Udon" lunch set. The noodles are firm and slippery, the broth is tasty too, with the ume coming through nicely. I'll save the "chiritori nabe" shown on the sign for next time, but as someone born in Nagoya, I have to ask: chiritori nabe = square pan = horumon-yaki—is that right?
View on GoogleI had the beef tongue curry udon. Udon➡️Normal thickness, a little on the firm side. Curry➡️Not spicy at all, so I added shichimi. The dashi came through and it was tasty. It's a shame it wasn't piping hot and the portion was small. Beef tongue➡️Tender and delicious. Green onion➡️Cut large; I felt it wasn't needed for curry. I'm interested in the dinner menu, so I'm thinking about coming back.
View on GoogleI had the horumon udon. The broth is Kansai-style with light soy sauce, slightly sweet. Very easy to drink. The texture of the horumon and the aroma of the broth were great.
