Went to Hattori-Tenjin for Chinese lunch ♪ Decided to try it out upon a friend's recommendation to try the Chinese food here too (^ρ^) It's a famous shop that appears at the top when searching for Hattori-Tenjin. I honestly thought it was a downtown-style Chinese diner, but the exterior is very stylish ✩.*˚ This makes it easy even for a solo woman to enter. Arrived 10 minutes before opening. Sat on the round outdoor stool with an auntie, but they showed us right inside the shop (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ■ Mapo Omu-don 1,100 yen (tax included) Includes salad, soup, and pickles Tada, such a dynamic visual☆*. Like an ocean of Mapo Tofu flowing out from the omurice! Breathtaking. The calories also seem immense ((´•ᴗ•;ก) First the salad, then to the soup. What flavor is this... after drinking it a few times I finally remembered, Plum Kombu Tea! It might be kombu tea, but it served as a green onion soup broth. The pickles were daikon radish. Taking a breath, it's finally time to dive into the Mapo Omu-don! The Mapo Tofu is pre-sprinkled with sansho pepper. It feels like a moderate numbness, aroma, and spiciness nicely bundled together. It was a very refined Mapo Tofu with a mellow flavor ⟡.· The omurice egg is soft enough to scoop up fluffy with a spoon. Mapo tofu + egg = the ultimate rice companion, right ♡ Run by two people: a charming female staff member and a humble chef. Both were very likable people ✩.*˚* Limited menus, a la carte dishes, and casually alcohol menus. Packed with tempting lunch menus in various ways!

I had the Mapo Omu-don. The elegant and thick fluffy egg is delicious. The mapo is mild in spice, just the right amount of spiciness for me. The fried chicken is also tender and more voluminous than it looks, making me full.

Attracted by the premium feel of "twice a month", I visited the shared-space business "Mapo Tofu Kuma" lunch at Chuka Uehara. Chuka Uehara's Mapo Tofu was also exquisite so my expectations were high. [Location] A residential area a short walk from Hankyu Hattori-Tenjin Station. Arrived just before 12 and it was almost full, managed to slip into a single-person seat by chance. So popular that a line formed outside immediately after entering. [Restaurant] As soon as you enter, a rich "good smell" fills the air. Appetites are completely drawn in, An atmosphere that makes you understand why it's fully booked even during lunch hours. [Impressions] Ordered the Mapo Tofu (for beginners) on that day. Besides that, they have a diverse lineup like carbonara-style, sweet, authentic Sichuan, and curry mapo, so I chose the regular mapo tofu which is easy for beginners to pick. Moderate spiciness so people who aren't great with spicy food can rest easy. It goes exceptionally well with rice and my chopsticks didn't stop. I ate with a spoon but my chopsticks kept moving the whole time. Palate cleansers like banbanji and soup were carefully crafted, making the non-monotonous composition a pleasant point. I totally understand why it gets popular. Ended with refreshing annin tofu for complete satisfaction. I thought I want to go again.
