View on GoogleUsually I only go to 100-yen conveyor belt sushi places, but I wanted to use up some points close to their expiration date, so I visited Chojiro for the first time in a while. I ordered the "Irodori" lunch set for 1,628 yen, available until 3 PM, using the touch panel. It was served in about 10 minutes. The color combination was well thought out, seemingly conscious of differentiating itself from 100-yen conveyor belt sushi chains? While the taste wasn't exceptionally mind-blowing, it was good and delicious, comparable to the 150 to 200-yen toppings at places like Kura Sushi. At least there were none of those terrible conveyor belt sushi pieces that are crunchy from coming straight out of the freezer. Regardless of whether the rice preparation was skillful or not, it was hand-pressed rather than made by a machine. Plus, it came with a salad, red miso soup, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), and a dessert of a steamed bun and mini cake. I previously had a slightly pricey image of them, but I thought the cost performance might actually not be bad at all. Those who usually eat plates priced around 150 or 200 yen even when going to 100-yen sushi places might find a similar level of satisfaction at Chojiro. The black soy sauce dispenser is a type where you press the top of the lid with your finger to control the amount. Be careful, as tipping it without knowing this will cause a lot to pour out suddenly. The clear container holds ponzu sauce. I accidentally poured it over the tuna, but it surprisingly paired well with the sushi and was refreshing and delicious. There are two parking lots: one on the north side of the restaurant and one across the street. Feb 2022
View on GoogleThe lunch set is affordable starting around 1000 yen, but the feeling of padding it out with pickled rolls and the like is intense, so I think the a la carte menu is better. If I were to eat this lunch, a 100-yen sushi restaurant would be better. Finding a go-to sushi restaurant for everyday use is quite a struggle. I can't be satisfied with 100-yen conveyor belt sushi (though nowadays, 100-yen plate items are rare), and conversely, I can't afford to visit high-end sushi restaurants regularly. That's why I'm checking out sushi places that cost around 3,000 yen per person. Nigiri Chojiro isn't bad, but the cost performance is poor. It's more refined than Daiki Suisan, but Daiki's taste is slightly better. In terms of total score, it's no different from cheap conveyor belt sushi. Disappointing.
View on GoogleIt's spacious and you can order using a touch panel. For lunch, the set contents are detailed, so it was nice to be able to look at the combinations and choose. At first, I thought about ordering something extra, but after finishing the meal, my stomach was nicely full, so I was satisfied. It was a lunch that made me think, "Isn't this better than conveyor belt sushi places that push 100-yen and 200-yen items?
