I didn't know as a child that there was an ancient burial mound (kofun) in a place like this. It's a very small mound at the very back of the shrine, situated as if protected by the main hall and the branch shrines. You can feel the history.

There's a burial mound stone chamber at the back right of the shrine grounds, but it's covered by bushes.
