Close to the Catholic church, museum, castle ruins park. I bought to bacon spinach sandwich and it was one of the best tastings sandwiches I’ve had in Japan. The blueberry cider soda was ok. Price was a little much but it’s a cafe so I expected it.

First visit as a married couple, on a walk (date) from the neighboring town👫 I took a sip of the chai (just a little) and it was deadly hot ヽ(;゚;Д;゚;; )ギャァァァ I think I burned my mouth… The chai spices were nice~ but for someone like me who can't handle hot stuff, scalding chai was way too intense an experience. I'll eat the bread I bought tons of for takeout once I get home ✌️ (follow-up report🍞 it was delicious♡) 🥖I love bread way too much so I keep buying tons🍞 226/2/212Saturday This is my second visit. The weather was nice again today, the first day of a three-day weekend. There was no line at CITY bakery so I could buy easily! Last time I bought the nori-flavored rusk and got hooked on how good it was after eating it, so I bought 2🎶 It opens at 3, but I wanted to buy what I want without lining up, so I came early.︎👍🏻 ̖́-

CITY BAKERY in Umeda always has a line. I heard that this branch is "relatively calm in the morning," so I visited for the first time. Both the exterior and interior feel open, a bright space with light streaming in through large windows. The seats are spaced generously, so even though it's a bakery it also has the comfort of a café. Since it was the weekend, the showcase was lined with a wide variety of breads and sandwiches, which made choosing fun. Every item looked high quality and the display was neat, showing the brand's characteristic skill at "presentation." The signature pretzel croissant has a pleasantly toasty surface with just the right saltiness, and the white sesame flavor ties it all together. Within its crisp lightness there's the richness of butter; simple, yet a very satisfying item. The toasted marshmallow, which I'd never seen before, was slightly firm outside and soft and rich inside. It's less sweet than typical marshmallows and seems like it'd pair well with coffee. The showcase also had lots of sandwiches, and the fillings and vibrant colors were impressive. I passed on them this time, but they're appealing enough that I want to try them next time. The clam chowder I had with it was packed with ingredients, with just the right thickness, and seemed made with careful thought to how it pairs with bread. It's more satisfying than a mere light meal. The yogurt-flavored muffin a staff member recommended also caught my interest, so I'd definitely like to try it on my next visit. Compared to the main store with its lines, this is a branch where you can slowly enjoy the appeal of CITY BAKERY in a calm environment. A place that delivers on both bread quality and a comfortable space.

Rum raisin pastry and egg sandwich from THE CITY BAKERY. My kid ate most of the egg sandwich. Personally, I loved the crunchy-chewy texture, almost like a candy glaze, and the rum raisin aroma. Delicious. Goes great with coffee. The coffee was good too.

What a hostile employee here ‼︎ Not smiling at all, unpleasant... and there's hardly any bread on weekday afternoons. It's not worth paying for parking to come to this bakery. P.S. This is my second visit. I was less bothered by the staff's service than last time, but there still wasn't a smile and I felt like I was in a café outside Japan. Exactly! This isn't Japan! If you think about it that way, it's normal!!www Maybe they're just not used to it yet? The staff don't smile at all, aren't attentive, and lack the basics of customer service. Very disappointing. Even though it was a weekday and just past noon, bread was in short supply. What's up with that⁉︎ I think it's fine to drop by while using the hall, but it doesn't seem worth making a special trip and paying for parking just for this shop yet. Second time. I came here because I have my dog with me. The mistake is thinking "this is Japan!" If you don't think that, the staff's attitude doesn't bother you at all.
