It's a pleasant place for a walk. It's a gravel path, but it's firmly packed and flat. Cherry trees are planted for about 1 km along the Banda waterway, and in cherry blossom season the rows of trees on both sides form a tunnel. Since this is Tamagawa, it has long been famous as a scenic spot. Walking south, there's Nishinokawa Kita Park, which also has a small covered bench. In spring tulips are planted, making a really beautiful scene together with the cherry blossoms. Right now a few pansies are planted. Matsuo Bashō also visited and composed a poem here. There's a monument along the way. If you peer into the Banda waterway from the railing of Tamagawa Bridge, you can see several big black carp swimming leisurely. Turtles are basking too. Try spotting the basking turtles in the video. At this time of year, daffodils are blooming here and there. Lots of ducks come to play. There are benches along the walking path. There's no toilet. If you keep walking, a landscape of rice paddies opens up. Every year from May to June you can see the blooming unohana (deutzia), the flower of Takatsuki City. Unohana has been celebrated in waka poetry as a sign of early summer. You'll see people out for walks and people who've come hiking. Right now there's probably a massive swarm of chironomid midges. I think it depends on the time of day, the temperature, and the day. Today there were none around 1 pm, but some had appeared by around 3 pm. Two weeks ago there was a huge swarm even around 1 pm. Late February 2026
View on GoogleWhen cherry blossom season comes, it's sooo beautiful! There are cherry trees on both sides, so a cherry blossom tunnel forms. Lots of people lay out sheets and have hanami. There's a Maruyasu next to it, and a paid parking lot too. There's also a bus stop right next to it. It's a hidden famous spot. Please do pay a visit
View on GoogleThis time of year, the cherry blossoms are magnificent. Along the river there's an avenue of several hundred cherry trees. There's no parking lot, but there are places where it looks like you can park. Coin parking and supermarkets.
View on GoogleForget Settsukyō or Yabakei—these days, when it comes to famous cherry blossom spots in Takatsuki, it's Tamagawa no Sato. There's a supermarket and paid parking nearby; trust me and try going once.
View on GoogleMu-Tamagawa (the Six Tamagawa Rivers): this time, the Tamagawa in Mishima I figured it'd be about peak bloom soon, but unfortunately the weather was bad, so I'll come again next time when the weather's good. Can't wait❗ My first encounter with unohana—what a cute flower😃 Too bad there were no willows😓
