Curry 400g + fried egg + half katsu 1,130 yen In Takatsuki, a fierce curry battleground, this is still something of a hidden gem. The fried egg was cooked perfectly. The heat kicks in afterward, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

First visit, evening. S size with half bacon + half tonkatsu, after-meal coffee, plus complimentary rakkyo pickles, for 1150¥ Second visit, evening: S size with sausage + eggplant, and coffee for 1300¥ A flavorful curry with the aroma of butter, and the eggplant and sausage went really well with it. According to the owner, what's usually called regular size is S here. The curry is defined by its rich, deep umami, quite bold. The heat builds up gradually. I love that they have half-size toppings. For middle-aged folks who can't eat as much anymore, and for women, you can try lots of things ^_^ If they offered vegetable toppings, I think they'd go great with the rich roux. Considering the toppings, the main portion, and the cost, I'm reminding myself that overall it ends up being a hearty, filling kind of place. The owner has a gentle way of serving, saying things like 'Do you eat rakkyo? I've got some I pickled~'—a nice homey feel. I'll be back (^.^) Third visit: butter chicken curry Topped with half bacon and half tonkatsu. Maybe the butter chicken has vegetables in the roux too; the spices come through but it's not too hot, and it came with pickles on the side, and I enjoyed it. When I asked the master, I was told there's tomato in the base. On days when you want a gentler flavor, this is the curry!

2024/06/07 Limited-time shiso Japanese-style curry The aroma of the shiso when it was served was amazing! You could still taste the shiso while eating, and now and then the fresh sweetness of tomato came through—delicious. The chicken had plenty of umami too. A refreshing kind of heat. I regret that my nose was stuffed up when I started eating, so I couldn't enjoy the aroma much. ーーーーーーーーーー 2024/01/26 Came back. Ordered curry M 850 yen with a tonkatsu topping for 250 yen. Compared to my previous visit, I didn't get that heartburn feeling from the frying oil. The batter was fried beautifully and it was very delicious. ーーーーーーーーーー 2022/11/11 I had curry M 800 yen with a topping of 4 fried oysters for 300 yen. Even M was plenty. For the amount, it didn't give me much heartburn. The oil quality seems decent. They were crispy and tasty, but the fried stuff felt like it might give me a bit of heartburn. There's a little heat, but unless you really can't handle spicy food, I think it's a level you can enjoy.

Went solo for Sunday lunch. It's east along the train tracks from Hankyu Takatsuki Station. There's a little open space next to the shop where you can park a few bicycles or small scooters. As the name suggests, it's a curry specialty shop, and the curry itself is European-style. Inside, it's a compact shop with about 10 seats, but it felt clean. The curry roux was the well-simmered type, and you could really feel the heat of the spices. To order, you choose the curry size and ask for any toppings you want. There didn't seem to be any spice-level adjustment. Also, PayPay was accepted for payment.

Visited on 2023/5/27 (Sat) at 13:00. It's a small shop with 2 counter seats and 3 tables (2 seats ×2, 4 seats ×1), but there's space between the tables, so it was comfortable ○. Curry M with white sauce (850 yen) + fried shrimp (250 yen) + iced coffee (100 yen) = 1200 yen. The curry had well-simmered beef tendon, a little heat, and sweetness from the vegetables. The heat was mellowed by the white sauce, making it easy to eat. I also liked that the white sauce wasn't heavy. The rice: stickiness ○, gloss ○, sweetness ○, with distinct grains—delicious. The fried shrimp is really delicious. It kind of went beyond topping-level quality. The shrimp itself is tasty, and the batter is somehow tasty too. The batter is crispy and the inside is melty. I'm curious how they cook it. The tartar sauce has a bit of acidity too, and eaten with the curry it's like pickles, which is nice. I'd love for them to add more toppings, like plain-fried vegetables. A hidden-gem, very delicious curry shop. Punchy curry like ヴァスコ・ダ・ガマ's is great too, but I found myself thinking this one is great as well.
