Convenient udon shop that is easy to visit with family or alone. I like the katsudon (preferring slightly sweet dashi and crispy tonkatsu) and tendon (also crispy with a slightly sweet broth), and often use takeout when craving strikes. For takeout, you fill out the dedicated sheet at the entrance and hand it to the staff. Onigiri, inari sushi, and tempura are self-serve style, placed on a tray and paid together at the register. After payment, you pack it yourself into bags or containers nearby. The finished dishes will be brought to you, so you can check them on the spot before taking them home. For noodles inside the shop, you can choose between thin and thick noodles. Thick noodles have a firm chew and sweetness, while thin noodles are softer and recommended when you want a light meal. I often choose thin noodles for tsukemen. The dashi is light yet flavorful, and overall the menu is simple and easy to eat. Prices aren't too high, making it casual to use. It gets crowded depending on the time, but with plenty of seats, it's rare not to get in. After writing all this, I still feel eating on-site is the most delicious.
View on GoogleNovember 2024 Both the noodles and iriko-based broth are decently good, but overall it felt expensive. Making udon large size costs 320 yen more??? I doubted my eyes. Medium size plus 160 yen for Marugame's normal portion. Toppings are on the smaller side.
View on GoogleI hadn't been to another Konpira Seimen in about 5 years because I didn't find it very tasty, but when I ate it after a long time, it was surprisingly good. Have they made various improvements? The noodles were chewy and had a good texture. Since the queue from ordering to payment is in a single line, traffic jams happen if a single person gets confused. I think this system needs improvement.
View on GoogleI came thinking "I just want to eat meat udon!". I like the overall vibe, but the floor feels a bit sticky. The main meat udon was very delicious! The price range is decent, and I recommend it to people who think "I want to eat udon but Marugame is expensive!
View on GoogleCheaper, tastier, and less crowded than Marugame, so it's my favorite.
