Today is a weekday but it's a day off from work and I'm a freeter, Together with my drinking friend who was also off work, we landed in Takatsuki! And after visiting Takatsuki's long-established standing bar 'Banjiro' and enjoying delicious dishes and a fun time, the second place we visited was Takatsuki's popular Chinese izakaya 'Harupin'. 'Harupin' is a very famous Chinese izakaya around Takatsuki, and is a popular shop with a reputation for delicious and affordable specialty boiled dumplings (sui-gyoza) and spring pancakes (chunbing). The location of the shop is in a back alley about a 2-3 minute walk east from Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station, with a tasteful retro exterior. We visited around 7:30 PM and luckily seats were open so we could enter without waiting. The inside of the shop is small with about 15 counter seats surrounding a narrow kitchen, and is currently run by the second-generation owner and his older sister. Unlike general Chinese restaurants, the menu does not have standard dishes like sweet and sour pork or fried chicken, nor noodle or rice dishes. Centered around the specialty sui-gyoza, there are about 20 kinds of side dishes for drinking such as chunbing, century egg, chashu, and pig's trotters, making the menu rather small. And this time we ordered the specialty sui-gyoza, 2 portions of chunbing, and chashu. ◉ Lemon Chuhai ¥530 (3 glasses ¥1,590) ◉ Shaoxing Wine ¥530 ◉ Sui-gyoza 5 pieces ¥430 ◉ Chunbing ¥330 (2 portions ¥660) ◉ Chashu ¥690 Everything in this shop is handmade, and even the specialty sui-gyoza is made from scratch from the skin after receiving an order, showing great dedication. While waiting for the sui-gyoza to arrive, we decided to drink with chashu and chunbing as snacks. The chashu looks meaty at a glance, and when eaten it is moist, tender, and juicy, with a rich sauce that goes well with drinks~ The fat is a little much, but you can thoroughly enjoy the sweetness of the fat and the umami of the meat, which was very satisfying. Unlike general oil-fried spring rolls, chunbing wraps ingredients like a crepe with a baked dough skin shaped like a mochi, and this kind of spring roll can only be enjoyed at 'Harupin'. It's two sizes larger than general spring rolls, and when eaten it has a moist texture with a slight sweetness in the skin itself, delicious! The filling inside is filled with minced pork, shiitake mushrooms, vegetables, etc., just like a general spring roll, very light and easy to eat, and goes great with the skin. Then their specialty sui-gyoza arrived. At a glance, it has a chewy baby face skin, and you are supposed to eat it as is without adding any special sauce. When eaten, the skin is thick, chewy, and bouncy, with plenty of filling, and meat juices spread in your mouth. As expected of a specialty, it's a VERY delicious sui-gyoza, slipping smoothly into the mouth endlessly. Since a serving of sui-gyoza is 5 pieces, it disappeared in no time~ I regretted not making it 2 portions. This time we finished after having this sui-gyoza. The payment this time for 2 people with 4 drinks and the above dishes totaled 3,900 yen. I don't know the exact history of 'Harupin', but it seems to have been operating in this place for a very long time, and I think it's a legendary shop loved for a long time by people living and working around Takatsuki. Thank you for the meal.

2025/09 Weekday 17:10 Sui-gyoza (5 pcs) ¥430 x 2 Chunbing ¥330 x 2 Liver (Kimo) ¥500 Pork Heart ¥690 Shaoxing Wine ¥530 x 2 Beijing Red Star Erguotou ¥670 Osmanthus Wine ¥510 A break from Takatsuki ramen tour~. Aimed at sui-gyoza and chunbing! Didn't know what the other menu looked like, so looked around and checked what others were eating, lol Haven't drank many types of Shaoxing wine, but it's easy to drink and delicious. Chunbing Chewy dough with a slightly sour, sweet, and spicy sauce, potatoes, bell peppers, bean sprouts, and scrambled eggs inside, delicious~. Not like the first bite is delicious, but a feeling that gradually becomes addictive. Sui-gyoza They wrap it after you order! Vegetables are crunchy and fresh, meat satisfaction is also there, delicious~. The chewy skin is delicious, but like this place, the skin is not too thick yet firm and doesn't break easily, which is good. A type you can eat any number of. A taste that is just right even without adding anything. Liver There's also heart! Yay~. Not like super moist, but firm, good for nibbling while drinking slowly little by little. Pork Heart Hesitated because buying pork heart yourself is pretty cheap, but it looked delicious so ordered it after all. Simple and delicious. Ordered one more portion each of sui-gyoza and chunbing. Both store owners served quietly and attentively, nice to be able to enjoy delicious food and drinks leisurely~~.

Since I visited late on a Saturday, the spring rolls I was looking forward to were sold out and I couldn't eat them. Salad items also seemed sold out, and sui-gyoza felt a bit heavy, so I just had a light drink with gizzard and kimchi, but it was delicious 🍺 It's not a Chinese restaurant like ramen, gyoza, or fried rice, so if you understand that, you'll enjoy it 🍺

Went in August 2024. The inside is a counter that can accommodate about 10 people, where you can enjoy rare Chinese dishes and alcohol. Rather than eating, it's a shop focused mainly on drinking, so there are no dishes that will fill you up. Just snacks for drinks. The number of menus is small and the quantity is not large, so you might order everything from end to end (laughs). "Sui-gyoza" is a dish with well-seasoned flavor where soup overflows when bitten like xiaolongbao. "Chunbing" has slightly spicy ingredients inside a chewy dough, which also goes well with drinks. Salads also had various kinds like "dried tofu", "pickled mustard plant", and "potato", all delicious. Meat-based ones have saltiness and a slight peculiarity smell, so preferences might be split. Keeping this as a drinking spot for adults. Seems good to aim for the 5 PM opening. Even if you shift the time and go in, there is a pattern where ingredients are sold out.
