Late-night meal in Takatsuki, the town of my youth. Back in my student days, it was a shop I frequently walked past and ignored. That makes sense; there were various all-you-can-eat places nearby, so drifting over there to fill a student's stomach was only natural. Time passes, and I'm back in this land for the first time in 20-odd years. Now with financial power, where expenses are no object for food. With its appearance unchanged from back then, there was simply no reason not to slip through the noren curtain. No tricks on the menu. A strong style of meat, drinks, and rice. No, for us Showa-era folks, this is exactly what we wanted. Feeling none of the quality hits-and-misses mentioned in other reviews, I just washed down the meat brought out in that strong style with beer. This is fine. This is all it takes. It's such a good old-school, old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant.

A yakiniku restaurant that's easy to enter even by yourself Grilling alone at the counter while watching TV and munching... 🥩 Feels like a nice occasional luxury A shop where the set includes getting caramel on the way out to sweeten your mouth before heading home No relying on side menus—just meat and rice! Plus drinks! Providing the ultimate menu with a simple set 👍

Friday night on the weekend, my usual spots were packed to the brim everywhere. It had high ratings on Google reviews, so I went to this shop for the first time. Since it felt like they'd been in business for many years, I felt secure. The menu lacked classic items like namul and soups; it was only meat, drinks, and rice. I was shocked when the meat came out. My husband and I looked at each other's faces, wondering what this was, and asked the middle-aged female staff member who brought it over. She replied, "From the top, it's loin, ribs, and harami," and immediately walked back. I screamed "Eh~?!" inside my heart. This isn't meat! I gradually got angry, wondering how they could serve such terrible meat. I grilled the reddish parts that looked edible and forced it down with lusterless rice. Loin, ribs, and harami at 2 portions each, Chinese cabbage kimchi, and 1 bottled beer came out to 7,840 yen. Oh well. My husband grilled up all the remaining white meat and weird-looking meat that couldn't be eaten and left it behind. Utterly furious. Shocked by the shocking meat, I only took pictures of the meat, but please take a look. Since it's a shop I will never visit again, I intended to ignore it, but I posted this because I felt sorry if anyone went there lured by the high ratings. Google ratings can't be trusted, can they? I'm shocked.

A yakiniku restaurant I've been going to since about 40 years ago. Went there for the first time in about 20 years this time. The vibe, tables, and tatami felt nostalgic. Especially the tare sauce felt nostalgic. Prices are up compared to back then, but I still think it's on the cheap side. Recommendations are salt tongue and bone-in galbi. Every now and then, meat with bad coloring comes out lol

I've been going here for at least 30 years. I've been to various other shops, but besides the meat, I like their dipping sauce the best. I'm crazy about salt tongue and always order it at the beginning and the end. I think it's a restaurant Takatsuki can boast about! Look forward to seeing you again 😀
