A diner mainly for students. Fewer customers on holidays and at night. It says "butadon" (pork bowl), but it's actually a pork kimchi bowl. It was delicious. Well, you can't really go wrong with this combination anyway. The kimchi isn't that spicy. The scallions taste sweet. For those who dislike kimchi, there is a yakiniku bowl with onions instead. Basically, these two choices are recommended. Medium is the standard size at 650 yen. Large has 400 grams of rice for 850 yen. Special large at 1,080 yen scales everything up, and the mega size at 1,500 yen comes with 900 grams of rice and 200 grams of meat. Since there is fundamentally more rice than toppings, you have to be mindful of your pacing or you'll have rice left over. The karaage bowl uses chicken thigh, but the pieces are a bit small and there are only four. Upgrading to large costs 150 yen more, but only the rice portion increases.

I ordered the Tonmen Set Meal. It was 750 yen including tax. I was certain it was a yakisoba set, but it turned out to be a pork kimchi yakisoba set meal. It was hearty and delicious, and I think it offers great value. There is a ticket machine immediately to the right upon entering, and water was self-service. I ate at the counter seats on the 1st floor (around 7 seats). It seems there is a 2nd floor as well.

Tondon is made by stir-frying domestic pork shoulder arm meat with Tsuruhashi kimchi, coated in a special sweet-and-savory spicy sauce. The distinct flavor with a balanced hint of garlic makes the slightly firm cooked rice immensely delicious. The restaurant has been open for over 30 years and is beloved by nearby college students.

Visited on 2021/03/12. I had the Tondon (Large) for ¥730. Rice topped with stir-fried pork, kimchi, and green onions—what other restaurants would call a stamina bowl. I didn't get one this time, but there seems to be a ticket for raw egg, so I plan to add that next time. The meat is tasty, so even the fatty parts are easy to scarf down. The kimchi has almost no acidity, with savoriness taking the lead, and combines with the sweetness of the scallions and kimchi, making it very easy to eat. With the large size rice, I think even reasonably big eaters will leave satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Tondontei! The specialty Tondon (Large)! Raw egg! My first visit to this student haven in Kishibe! When you come here, everyone orders the Tondon. The only dilemma is the size! Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, Mega. For now, I was torn between Large and Extra Large lol. The Extra Large seems to be equivalent to two Medium bowls, so I held back and went with the Large size this time! The pork bowl here, despite its name, is actually a pork kimchi bowl (´▽`)/ Taking a bite! It really feels like "I'm eating pork kimchi!" lol. The long green onions add an accent as scorched scallions. The sweetness of the onions is elevated fuffu-(´ε` )♪ Tondontei for hearty, heavy-hitter bowls! Thank you for the meal (´▽`)/ P.S.: My partner had the karaage bowl, but personally, I preferred this one ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
