【Visited 2017.11】 By a twist of fate, I got off the train midway at Esaka. Alright, since I'm here anyway... let's grab a quick drink! (~q~) That said, I don't know my way around Esaka. Where should I go... After wandering around the station for over ten minutes (sweat) I found a red-lantern place that looked easy to walk into alone (^○^) I slooowly slide open the door. 「Welcome~♪」 The mama and a staff lady greet me cheerfully. They seemed to be having a slow day, so they looked kind of happy (lol) I sat at the counter and ordered a drink. ● Draft beer 「If it's slow anyway, let's all drink together!」 and they treated me to a drink. A toast, the three of us (lol) The mama, who's from Amami Oshima, has apparently been running this place for 40 years. And yet... zero reviews!? What's going on (buckets of sweat) Drinking snacks ■ Hamburg steak ■ Simmered baby taro ■ Oden They picked out a few dishes from the big platters for me. The homemade hamburg steak is slightly coarse-ground and bursting with juices. The sticky, dense baby taro was perfectly salted. The oden in its solid dashi had soaked up the flavor nicely and was delicious. Every one of them is a snack that satisfies a drinker. The conversation was lively and I wanted to stay longer... but a work client got in touch, so I settled the bill. It was a cozy place where you'd want to settle in and drink at leisure (^。^) I'll drop by again, thanks for the meal.
View on GoogleI went at night. The customers and the staff were all mingled together, and I remember being treated very warmly. I think it was incredibly comfortable. (since I got blackout drunk) You won't lose anything by going.
View on GoogleAround 2000, I lived nearby because of a job transfer and often had dinner here. All the food was delicious. I think there were a lot of Amami and Okinawan dishes. I'd like to go again.
View on GoogleA homey place 🏠 where you can eat Amami local cuisine. This time it was soki soba; the bonito dashi comes through, and the shima togarashi creates an exquisite flavor.
View on GoogleI go here for lunch. Delicious, healthy, and cheap
