A ramen shop originating from Kyoto. The noodles use our signature homemade noodles that blend 3 types of Hokkaido wheat. This is a shop for rich chicken paitan ramen (soy sauce, salt, miso) where chicken bones and chicken meat are cooked until cloudy, and Taiwan mazesoba.

Bit of a weird experience before entering the shop, the waitress came out to invite the next guests in, we were at the front of the line, we thought, but we were ignored and the waitress went back inside. When she came out again she ignored us again and when we said we were waiting she said we were in the wrong place. We were stood in front of the shop in front of the line... Weird start but unfortunately the service didn't get better inside. We ordered Taiwan mazesoba and shio ramen. The mazesoba took 10 minutes to arrive and the shio ramen 15 minutes with no explanation. 3 people working and about 15 customers inside...don't think we have ever waited longer for ramen. The Taiwan mazesoba was pretty good. Big portion size the 3 pieces of grilled pork were well cooked but the taste of katsuobushi was overpowering. The noodles had good bite and there was good spice/heat in the sauce. The shio ramen was strange. It literally tasted like a carbonara soup. Again, the chicken was well cooked and the noodles good but the soup tasted like soy milk and chicken stock. Very creamy and heavy, not unpleasant but very unexpected. I liked the different spices in offer but the lemon powder didn't taste of much. The shop seems to have potential but needs to work on the speed and service.

Good ramen place. Their small ramen serving is perfect for someone who wants to have ramen on a not so empty stomach.

It was my first visit to Egao no Kirameki! It was a rainy day so visiting points were doubled, which was a nice bonus. I ordered the Shoyu no Kirameki ramen and it was very delicious. The interior was also clean and made me want to visit again. It stays under 1000 yen and you often win rice bowl dishes with the app coupons, so I think the cost-performance is extremely good.

2026/2/1 I came to visit to try the Kirameki Jiro that I've been curious about. It was around 12:30 PM on a Sunday, and since it's in front of Kansai University, it's bustling with students. Well, the Kirameki Jiro small size is 200g so I ordered the small. They said rice is free up to large size, but I ordered a small portion. My bowl arrived in about 10 minutes! The photos don't do it justice, the chashu is huge w Also the portion is hearty and topped with a mountain of garlic w The salty soy sauce-based soup pairs well with the super thick, rugged noodles! The rice pairs amazingly well with it too! Eating this as a middle-aged uncle about once a month should be fine! Eating a hearty meal left me very satisfied. Thinking to myself that if I were a bit younger I'd come weekly, I want to try the Shoyu no Kirameki next time. Thank you for the meal.
