My friend took me to Curry Brown for date lunch and the food was amazing. A very cozy (古民家 kominka), atmospheric restaurant with great service, excellent food.

Drawn by the traditional old house in Esaka, I made a reservation and visited for lunch on a Saturday. Entering through what looks like the entrance to a private home and crossing a courtyard into the restaurant, the ceilings were high and the interior was lovely, and it was nearly full. Being able to see a beautiful garden in Esaka, with the old house's architecture and furnishings feeling nostalgic, the atmosphere was great. For food, I had a combo of beef tendon curry and keema curry. The seasoning was so robust I wondered, do they really not use salt? Combined with the brown rice, it seems like it'd be popular with women, but men's opinions may be divided. It's an old house with a nice atmosphere, good for chatting while taking a close look at the furnishings, but there were customers waiting, and the staff quickly cleared away empty dishes.

Now I'm craving curry. I enjoyed the shop's atmosphere, including the path from the entrance to the inside. The curry had a gentle flavor overall, but you could adjust the heat with the magic powder. The beef tendon was very tender and delicious. However, when I wanted a water refill, I didn't know the pot displayed on the table had water in it, so I kept waiting for a staff member to be free. It would have been nice if they'd told us at the start. The atmosphere was really lovely, and I'd like to come again with family and friends.

I was drawn to a curry shop in a traditional old house and went in. I had the beef tendon curry and keema curry, and both were delicious. I also added a pork fillet cutlet topping, which made it even more satisfying. The staff promptly swapped my salad for one without dressing, and I appreciated the consideration. It's a place I'd like to visit once a month. That said, the keema curry is a bit spicy.

It operates inconspicuously in a residential area lined with mansions. I almost walked right past it. Once you step onto the grounds, there's a mansion with a well-tended garden inside—a space like Kyoto. A spacious interior? From the room, which you might call the mansion's living-dining room, the garden looks beautiful. The curry I ordered uses no salt or wheat flour at all—food that's gentle on the body. I could feel their dedication, and it was a satisfying time.
