Probably the less groomed shop in the area. Old unstable chairs, dirt and stains with years of age, sticky tables, inadequate cleaning. The floor is sticky and has black greasy spots. The young staff is careless, specially with the cleaning in between the customers, even having plenty of time to do so. Some have an attitude that is definitely not welcoming. The taste of the kotteri was weaker than other shops. I leave the shop with the feeling that I paid too much for the overall quality and service. I will edit this review tomorrow, after checking out if what I eat cause me any issues.
View on GoogleWanting to eat Tenkaippai for the first time in a while, I visited this nearby branch for weekday lunch. Coming back after a while, there were new menu items that weren't there before, such as "Cold Noodles", "Mapo Horumon Rice Bowl Set", and "Beef Tongue Set". Being a fan of horumon (offal), this time I ordered the "Mapo Horumon Rice Bowl Set". ◆Mapo Horumon Rice Bowl The mapo horumon rice bowl was brought out first. Rice in a piping hot iron hotplate pan, topped generously with horumon and mapo. There was more horumon than expected, which is a nice point. The taste was delicious-spicy with moderate heat, making the rice go down smoothly. Since it's a stone-grill-like iron pan, the rice forms a scorching crust as time passes, but personally, with this seasoning, I preferred eating it with regular rice rather than the crust. ◆Kotteri Ramen The ramen featured the same reliable kotteri (rich) soup as always. It tasted just as expected, and even after a long time, it was a bowl that made me think, "This is it!" You can change the flavor with the ramen sauce on the table, but personally, I liked the original taste best. Payment is via an automatic checkout machine, but it doesn't support cashless payments and is cash only. There are 18 parking spaces, making it an easy store to visit by car.
View on GoogleFirst time at Tenkaippai. Kotteri, regular noodle firmness. Just as I heard, a remarkably sludge-like soup 🥣 Powdery tonkotsu 😌 I'm glad I got to experience the rumored Tenkaippai. I mixed in the free ramen toppings of green onions, bean sprouts, and chives to eat. I was surprised by how piping hot the soup and noodles were 👍 Since I could order just a single piece of fried chicken, I had that too, and it was juicy and delicious 😌 The store clerk had a nice vibe, which was good. I don't originally love tonkotsu kotteri itself, but I ate it because I wanted to experience it 🤭 If I have the chance to go next time, I'll probably order the assari (light) or yatai (food cart) style one 😌
View on GoogleOctober 1st is "Ten-I Day", so I went to Tenkaippai for the first time in a while. On this day, app-only coupons for a free bowl of ramen on your next visit were distributed, so the restaurant was understandably booming. There was more liveliness than usual. I ordered the classic kotteri ramen. Adding plenty of self-service green onions and garlic gives even more depth to that one-of-a-kind rich soup. Every time, I think to myself that this is no longer a dish called "ramen", but something called "Tenkaippai". By the time I finished eating, my stomach felt quite heavy. Even so, seeing the words "We await you tomorrow" written at the bottom of the bowl somehow makes me laugh.
View on GoogleLunch at "Tenkaippai Shijonawate Branch" Came here wanting to eat a kotteri-assari after a long time Around 11:40, it was empty with just a few people. Ordered kotteri ramen 950 yen right away with app order! Oh! There was a notice saying bean sprout namuru, chives & garlic, spicy miso, and green onions are complimentary. Wondering if it's only at the Shijonawate branch, I came to get them and there was even sata andagi! Enjoyed the kotteri-assari thoroughly while using them as snacks.
