I've lived nearby for a long time, but hadn't been here for about 15 years. I had something to do in the neighborhood, so I visited for dinner. The area in front of JR Senrioka Station is undergoing redevelopment, with businesses being vacated and relocated, but the other side of Sangyo Road is unaffected and operating as usual. This is a long-established restaurant that's been around for ages. The interior has a wood-grain finish, with counter seating and other seats, and a decent amount of space. Ordered the gyoza set meal and upgraded the ramen to regular size. Chose shio ramen. The ramen has a rich tonkotsu base, so even though it's 🧂, the creaminess of the tonkotsu comes through more strongly, and it tastes good. There are self-service toppings. I added tenkasu, but didn't notice there were wood ear mushrooms. Above all, the gyoza had a lovely strong garlic chive flavor and were really, really delicious, so I recommend them to everyone!

Gen-chan, a Kyushu ramen restaurant near JR Senrioka Station. Went in and first ordered the beer and snack set (edamame, seasoned boiled pork?, kimchi). A medium bottle and snacks for 550円 seems cheap. With my thirst quenched, time to eat. They recommended the “uma shio ramen,” so I ordered it. Rice is free with a ramen order, so I asked for that too. For something called Kyushu ramen, the uma shio ramen might be too light? I wanted more impact. Also, whether it was because of winter or a cold bowl, the soup wasn't hot at all. Anyway, I added some free toppings like garlic chips and ate it. A bit disappointing. Last time I tried the recommended uma shio ramen, so this time, after the snack set, I ordered fried rice à la carte and their original handmade gyoza. But both were a complete miss. I think you can tell from the photos that both were covered in oil. Both the fried rice and gyoza smelled oily, and that's no good. I can understand why the restaurant is empty. Disappointing.

Lunch with my wife. Was it tasty? Yes, I suppose it was. Personally, I felt the soup was lukewarm, but apparently that suited my wife, who can't handle hot food. If a ramen shop has gyoza, I order them, but if they're going to serve bad gyoza, I think it's better not to have them. Personally, good ramen is a basic requirement for a ramen shop. Whether I want to return depends on how much the side dishes multiply the enjoyment. Side dishes with no effort put into them only detract from the experience.
