When I went to Otori Shrine, I went to a Western-style restaurant I had wanted to drop by. I arrived right at opening time. Counter for 3 people, one 2-person table, two 4-person tables. I ordered the pork tenderloin cutlet set and the cheese-in hamburger set. Before being served, the seats filled up. The food was delicious for both, just as reviewed.
View on GoogleInitial notes September 2025 Visited "Nabesan-chi" to eat lunch. Because it was lunchtime, there was one group of customers waiting outside. I ordered the "Beef Cutlet Set", and my partner requested the "Scallop Cream Croquette Set". The large shrimp fry and scallop fry were sold out. The rice felt a bit soft. It's a small rice bowl but contains quite a lot. Regarding both menus, I felt the default sauce was lacking. Since there are no condiments like salt on the table either, considering it as a side dish for rice, I'd want about 1.5 times the default sauce. The taste itself could be enjoyed deliciously. April 2026 Addendum This time I had lunch alone. I had the "Chicken Tender Cheese Fry". To be honest, my impression is that I wanted a bit more volume. It's a pity since it's delicious. The rice is packed solidly so there isn't enough side dish.
View on GoogleA Western-style restaurant located inside Otori Shopping Street. The weekday daily special lunch was offered for 900 yen with an extra item added to the regular menu. It seems the food is cooked by a chef who was also at the restaurant of the Embassy of Japan. I enjoyed Friday's daily special of pork teki and horse mackerel fry with soup and rice. You can also use the shopping street's parking lot.
View on GoogleA small Western-style restaurant located inside the Otori Honmuri Shopping Street arcade, about a 3-minute walk from JR Otori Station. Run by a married couple, the master is a disciple of a certain famous hotel's general chef and formerly a chef at the Embassy of Japan in Israel Stopped by during weekday lunch time and ordered the mixed fry set for 1200 yen. An assortment containing shrimp fry, hire cutlet, minced meat cutlet, and gratin croquette. Since each item is carefully fried, it takes a little time from ordering to serving Eating it, while it's simple fried food, all of them are delicious. Especially the crispy-fluffy coating of the gratin croquette felt quite impressive [August 3, 2026] Revisited after about 2 years. Stopped by during weekday lunch time and ordered the mixed grill for 1430 yen. The contents are a 3-item assortment of chicken steak, pork steak, and frankfurter Eating it, it's quite good. However, personally I feel the fried food items convey this shop's goodness better Talking with the wife, the master wasn't a chef at the "Embassy of Israel in Japan" but a chef at the "Embassy of Japan in Israel", so I had it backwards. Also, quite a career background as having served as a director in the ramen chain "Fujimiya" group
View on GoogleFirst visit to a restaurant I was curious about. Said to be run by a former chef of the Embassy of Japan in Israel. Ordered the highly-rated mixed fry (1300 yen) from reviews. The egg salad on a separate plate is a nice touch. All the fries are delicious, and unlike some places, the coating doesn't fall off. Despite being fried food, there is no unpleasant feeling of stomach heaviness, which makes it understandable why there are many elderly customers. Personally, it would have been best if there was a little more sauce on the hire cutlet. It was delicious. I'll come again ❗️
