It's on the 2nd floor of Sakai Rishō no Mori. You can learn about Yosano Akiko's life, works, and more through a variety of materials. I learned about her strong bond and love with her husband, Yosano Hiroshi (Tekkan).

The book bindings were wonderful. There were also karuta cards, yōkan labels from her family's wagashi shop, and more — all printed items that made me want them. A replica of “Midaregami” was sold at the shop (1100 yen) and I picked it up, but the super-glossy on-demand print look bothered me, so I put it back on the shelf. Even if letterpress isn't possible, regular offset printing would have been fine! Also, you can listen to a recording of the poet herself reciting her poems. It was very impressive.

I visited on a whim. It shows in great detail the life of Yosano Akiko, a representative figure of Osaka, starting from her upbringing. The explanation from the staff member who guided us was also very easy to understand and thorough. I felt glad I came.

A wonderful space where you can experience the trajectory of Yosano Akiko's life through the memorial museum and library space. Was Akiko's character — valuing essence over surface — nurtured by the culture and climate of the town of Sakai? It's also the birthplace of Sen no Rikyū, so next time I want to revisit to learn about the history of Sakai.

It's on the 2nd floor of Sakai Rishō no Mori. In the special exhibition room at the front, there's an introduction to Sakai's kofun (ancient burial mound) clusters.
