Probably the best vegetable sushi in Japan!! The owners expertise is insane! So yummy and beautiful. Vegans and vegetarians can eat here!

On the national holiday during the Obon vacation, I visited the vegetable sushi restaurant "Saiki." About a 15-minute drive from Izumigaoka Station or Toga-Mikita Station on the Senboku Railway. The Inaba bus stop (Nankai Bus) in Sakai City was right in front of the store. Looking at a Tabelog follower's post, I heard that it takes time, so it's better to make a reservation in advance, so I made a phone reservation just before. When I left the house with plenty of time, I didn't get lost after all and arrived smoothly. I arrived even 30 minutes early. The master seems to run the place all by himself. We decided to wait inside the store. I ordered the Shiki Gozen (1980 yen), and my wife ordered the Saiki Gozen (1650 yen). What do you know, the restaurant opened in March 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. He previously trained at a Michelin-starred restaurant. However, he was in a traffic accident and miraculously survived, but he had taste disorders and it must have been very tough. He asked if it was okay that it takes time, and I told him, "Yes, of course," and waited for the food while talking with my wife. It took a little time, but the food brought out by the master was so beautiful that I was surprised! Moreover, I was surprised a second time that these were all made with vegetables. I had heard of vegetable sushi, but everything was made of vegetables! Wow, this is very Instagrammable. The Shiki Gozen was 5 pieces of nigiri sushi, tofu sashimi with vinegar miso, 3 pieces of chakin sushi, stewed vegetables, vegetable tempura, and dessert. The Saiki Gozen was vegetable temari sushi, stewed vegetables, tofu sashimi with vinegar miso, 5 pieces of nigiri sushi, red miso soup, vegetable tempura, and dessert. Well, what looked like tuna was tomato! Frozen tofu sushi, eggplant sushi. Everything is so delicious! The whole tomato in the miso soup is delicious~. The tempura is freshly fried vegetables. The temari sushi includes shiitake mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms. All of them are elaborate temari sushi and I was moved~. This must be why it takes time. Is this an evolved version of shojin ryori? My wife also praised it highly. For the final dessert, I had peach compote. My wife had a dessert like banana cake. Both have a gentle sweetness. Well, I was really satisfied! Although it was a little far from the station, the master was friendly and talked to me about various things. Highly recommended!

I had the Saiki Gozen lunch. Actually, I'm not good with vegetable dishes, but I enjoyed the food here very much✨ Cleaned my plate 👍 Not only the taste, but the appearance is also beautiful. It feels like a feast for the eyes. It's a pity that the tempura was cold, but since the master prepares it alone, I thought it couldn't be helped. I would like to visit again ☺️

Each and every dish is carefully prepared and visually gorgeous. The taste is also flawless. A 1igo-ori bento box that will delight as a small souvenir.
