As of August 31, 2023, Takoyaki Yamakawa has closed down. Many regulars rushed to the beloved store owner and it was bustling, but regretfully, the owner's health deteriorated and it was decided to close as stated above. I also met the next manager. I figured they were someone new, but at this stage, it's nowhere near the taste of Takoyaki Yamakawa. I frequented the shop for 6 years since it opened, and to think the new manager and this shop could be so different— Takoyaki is just takoyaki, yet takoyaki is more than just takoyaki. The taste was completely different. I used to go because I liked Takoyaki Yamakawa, but I have no ties with the new owner, so I won't be going. Those who saw the reviews, rather than being swayed by past reviews, would be better off recognizing it as a different takoyaki.

The takoyaki size is large. crispy and savory on the outside, and baked gooey on the inside. Toppings are katsuobushi and aonori. Ingredients are just octopus and tenkasu, but you don't feel a lack of flavor, it's delicious takoyaki. Prices start from 300 yen for 5 pieces. It becomes more economical as the quantity purchased increases. Including customer service, the overall impression is of meticulous work. Every time a customer changes, they sanitize their hands, which made me think it's a shop you can purchase from with peace of mind regarding hygiene.

As others have mentioned, the store owner has a laid-back, friendly old-guy vibe ~ (laughs) The takoyaki containing soup stock is crispy-gooey, and hot 🐙 Besides takoyaki, they also have inexpensive snacks and dagashi (cheap sweets), so it might be good for a light drink. There are many types of sauce, which makes it hard to choose! So far, my best is the sweet sauce (๑´ڡ`๑)

The takoyaki is delicious. At first I didn't notice how good it was, but it makes you want to visit again. Eating other takoyaki makes you realize how good this one is. The owner is also someone who cherishes his customers. I want everyone to know about it so please try eating it once.

Honestly delicious! Delicious takoyaki! Having a drink inside the shop is also OK! Takeout is available of course!
