This restaurant is truly lovely, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels just like the kind of place grandma would often visit. The moment you sit down, you instantly feel relaxed. The owner is incredibly friendly and greets every guest with genuine warmth, making you feel right at home. The prices are reasonable, and the food has a real homemade touch—you can taste the care and heart put into every dish. We feel very lucky to have found this place, and it’s definitely somewhere we’d love to visit again.

Visited during lunchtime. It is a quite retro, Showa-era building. An elderly woman and two female staff members were working inside. Ordered Oyako Udon and stir-fried vegetables. Both were a bit light in flavor and made me want a bit more saltiness, but both were delicious. Above all, the cheapness stood out, and I was surprised at checkout. No one was smoking, but there was an ashtray on the table, so it must be a smoking-allowed shop. There is space to park one car in front of the store, but you shouldn't expect too much.

The omurice was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. There are 16 seats available at the table seating. There were 2 customers ahead of me. Smoking allowed. When someone smoked a cigarette, they turned on the ventilation fan at the entrance. There were 2 people working today, and it was a nice atmosphere.

Wakaba Shokudo ・ Head to Wakaba Shokudo, a Showa-retro diner located near Otori Taisha Shrine in Nishi-ku, Sakai City. Within walking distance from JR Otori Station. A long-established restaurant in its 52nd year of operation, and their popular menu item is omurice! ・ The interior has a nostalgic Showa atmosphere, stepping inside feels like traveling back in time. A warm space lined with table seating. Too wonderful, isn't it? (^_)ノ Order of the day ⤵︎ ︎⤵︎ ︎ ⁡ ★Curry Udon ★Onigiri (Rice Ball) ・ The curry udon is the best with a gentle curry flavor powered by dashi. The taste of an old-fashioned diner, it was ridiculously delicious. ・ Even the onigiri was rustic and delicious, and while enjoying the atmosphere of a Showa diner, I was able to spend a heartwarming time.

Visited around 13:30. Ordered the stir-fried vegetables for 450 yen and oyako udon for 450 yen. The stir-fried vegetables were essentially stir-fried bean sprouts with a small portion and a light flavor, and I thought, I might as well not have bothered eating it. The oyako udon had chicken bound in egg, and had a gentle taste. Right beside me while eating, someone was puffing away on a cigarette, and midway through I couldn't taste anything anymore. I visited because of the high ratings, but it was just an ordinary neighborhood diner. It seemed like the main clientele were elderly locals. Thank you for the meal.
