Perfect visuals making you convinced 'it's definitely delicious' even before eating. ⁡ Dashimaki has a gentle taste featuring the umami of dashi. Thanks to the plenty of dashi contained, you can fully feel umami as is without pouring soy sauce. Pairs exceptionally well with white rice, a somehow comforting home-style dish. ⁡ The 'hiyayakko' coming with the set meal is topped with soy-sauce-pickled chives, which makes a good accent. ⁡ The rice is freshly cooked and very delicious. Miso soup is a blended miso using two types of miso, amazing. Stewed dishes were delicious and moved me. ⁡ Healed by the veteran proprietress, I was able to spend a wonderful lunchtime. The star dashimaki uses 4 eggs, fluffy and volume-packed! One bite lets dashi spread juicily. Comes with 3 small side dishes, plus rice, miso soup, and pickles for plenty of satisfaction. I was curious but mustered up the courage to go!! The interior feels like an old-school set meal shop, with 3 tables (one 2-person table, two 4-person tables). As written in various reviews, the proprietress talks endlessly!! Even after ordering she started talking after making it, and talked while making it too, I wonder if she was trying to keep solo me from getting bored? By the way, the shop name [Uizu] means [with], and she named it from the concept of everyone eating meals together shoulder to shoulder 😊 It seems it will reach 30 years in December 2025. She says the dashimaki set meal ordered is the most popular. She uses vegetables harvested from her own garden and changes the menu little by little depending on that day's procurement or harvested vegetables. The rice is new rice, glossy and plump. I asked for a small portion, but she still put quite a lot lol The dashi-soaked fluffy dashimaki is delicious ♡ It has enough presence as a main dish that it doesn't need anything added. Work site was nearby so I went for lunch 😊 An old-feeling Kitanachurand-esque shop 😊 Feels like a mother is running it alone! What I ordered this time: Dashimaki set meal 880 yen Large rice 200 yen Doteyaki 500 yen First having the dashimaki, it has a salty and dashi-infused fluffy-melting texture, delicious 😄 However, the rice I had afterwards had a smell passing through the nose A smell understood by anyone working on refrigerators or air conditioning in kitchens for work Smell of 🪳 poop Impregnated into the rice bowl and spreading throughout the mouth with the rice 🤮 Did I use a rice bowl left out because it was busy and dishwashing couldn't keep up today? Since it was so terrible and oily I asked them to change it and they did managed to finish everything, but since this is the first time in my life very shocked 😨 Even though the dashimaki and doteyaki were delicious Very regrettable. Thank you for the meal ✨ Even if a 🪳 walks around casually in the shop I wouldn't think much of it, but... I suppose it can't be helped since the mother is doing it alone, but if she's going to machine-gun talk I'd want her to sort out places like that 💦

I had the dashimaki set meal. Large rice portion. Looks like the mother is operating alone, made after ordering. Dashimaki is genuinely delicious❗️❗️ Other a la carte dishes are packed with a handmade feel and heartfelt mom's taste. Shop seems to have been running for nearly 30 years, and many regular customers. If it were nearby, a shop I'd want to go drinking at night. Since the mother's daughter and I are of the same generation, the conversation took off, and we chatted for about 30 minutes after finishing eating. Man, she talks a lot! (laughs) Still, she's a deeply human mother, and we had fun chatting. Reggae DJ RED SPIDER also apparently often came to the local shop this mother used to run when he was little, and she talked happily about how he has now become a reggae DJ representing Japan. I thought everyone is charmed by the mother's personality and affectionate cooking. I became a big fan too ❣️ Will go again. Thank you for the meal ❗️❗️
