413 Hirao, Mihara-ku, Sakai City, Osaka. Nankai Koya Line, Kitanoda Station East Exit ~ approx 35 min walk. Minami-Hanna Road, Mihara East IC ~ approx 7 min. A long-standing local popular udon, soba, and rice bowl shop located along National Route 309. Characterized by Kansai-style umami broth, voluminous set meals, and set menus (tanin-don, katsudon, hamburger and set meals etc). Very large parking lot, tatami seating makes it calm shop crowded with families and groups 😀 Customers never stop 😀 Handmade udon slides down throat smoothly and chewy delicious 😋 Clerks very friendly, kind, very cheerful, shop making you want to come again 😀 Curry udon is dashi-infused umami-rich Japanese style curry, voluminous, very delicious 😋 Shrimp tempura oroshi features 2 large shrimp in volume, freshly fried crispiness and smooth noodles very delicious 😋 Cold grated daikon broth refreshing and delicious 😋 Fried rice cake topping very large, eating satisfaction, delicious ⸜(*´ᗜ`*)⸝ Business hours 11:00〜14:00 Closed Wednesdays and Thursdays.
View on GoogleShop curious passing before. Heard from wife existed since childhood and often went with parents, wife decades later, first time for me. Moment entering shop, nostalgic udon shop smell drifted. Interior full even around 13:00 weekdays 🈵. Surprised by number of menu items seeing menu, but decided eating 'Katsudon & Zaru Udon' so ordered. Wife hesitated various things, eventually ordered 'Chirashizushi Set Meal'. Living long in Okayama due to work, most shops Sanuki udon style. Love that too, but today recalled Kansai-style udon taste often taken by parents in childhood at this shop. Katsudon broth worked well and enjoyed deliciously 😋 Regrettable night closed, lunch only, but want to go again.
View on GoogleFish fry set meal (with zaru udon) 1,450 yen. Fry fried crisp, tartar delicious too. Pickles included, satisfaction present. Just, essential rice and noodles slightly lacking... Zaru udon medium-thin smooth throat, but weak firmness, impression hard distinguishing from convenience store noodles. Rice black sesame smokiness good, but freshly cooked feel thin, felt reliant on visual presentation. Also, signature soba and oyako-don sold out daytime, somewhat regrettable. Modest rating this time
View on GoogleSomehow popular dining spot Taste average However, customers many. Udon slightly soft and thin noodles Soba average Served quickly after ordering.
View on GoogleHad tempura zaru soba, tempura quite regrettable 😭 Rock-hard burnt-like batter, flat shrimp tempura, only batter. Amount of batter like year-end supermarket shrimp. Surprised by hard tempura 😡 Price for this... Tempura oil might be overused. Want employee to test taste before serving to customers once. Warm udon broth delicious, so 2 stars but...
