Had lunch at Tomoyamaya, an old-school set meal and okonomiyaki shop located about a 2-minute walk from Sakai-shi Station. Inside, there are 4 table seats and 2 counter seats, making it quite narrow. The interior has a slight Showa-era vibe, but it was quite clean 😍 I ordered today's lunch, the 2-item combo set meal of fried horse mackerel and croquette. My friend ordered the negiyaki. At Tomoyamaya, if you order today's lunch or beer, you can freely choose a small side dish♪ It's a bit like Gekotei❣️ Arrived in about 13 minutes. The fried horse mackerel was two small ones. The croquette was one normal-sized one. Both tasted delicious! The croquette was a cream croquette. The rice is soft and delicious 😋 The miso soup is just so-so. The negiyaki was normally delicious♪ Thank you for the meal ☆ The staff are elderly people running the place, and customer service is quite ordinary. The downside is that the TV volume is a little loud and the food service is a bit slow. Delicious, but probably won't repeat... View on GoogleAn okonomiyaki-centric set meal restaurant located very close to JR Sakai-shi Station. A community-rooted shop where smoking is allowed at all seats even during lunchtime. Entered on a weekday afternoon after seeing the attractive daily special menu signboard outside the store. After much hesitation, I ordered the classic salted mackerel set meal for 900 yen. The accompanying side dish allows you to choose 2 plates from the display case. The salted mackerel itself is standardly tasty. The daily special menu is reasonably varied, so if I visit again, I'd like to order a completely different genre of dish.
View on GoogleEntered around 1:30 not knowing that business hours end at 3 PM, and was told, "Until 3 PM for lunch." Was told it takes 30 minutes to cook. First-time customers don't seem to be very welcome. 30 minutes later, a burnt-to-a-crisp okonomiyaki was brought out. Forced myself to eat 2/3 of it. Probably won't go back a second time.
View on GoogleThe okonomiyaki is delicious, but the other dishes are also delicious! Drinks go down easily 😃 Close to the station, so you can get there quickly by train ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An easy place to drop in even by yourself 😄✨
View on GoogleVisited several times for lunch. At first, you might hesitate thinking it's only for regulars, but once you step inside, it's a tasteful and wonderful shop. The landlady is cheerful, and the food is very delicious. Being able to choose two small side dishes is also delightful. (Menus with selectable side dishes are written on the signboard in front of the shop) Amidst many strong-flavored chain restaurants, it's a relief to have a place like this. I will continue to use it when working around Sakai-shi Station.
