Best udon ever! On my way back from visiting the sayamaike museum, I decided to give this udon restaurant a try after seeing so many good reviews. It didn't disappoint! I went there just after they opened the shop so got a seat straightaway. The shop is small but very clean and have traditional look outside and inside. I ordered the cold udon they only provide during May to September, the chef recommended yam to go with it. I also ordered some prawn and vegetable tempura. Both the chef and his wife don't speak much English but they were super friendly and tried making conversations which made the dinner even more enjoyable! The udon was home made I believe and it was amazing, the soup stock, raw egg yolk, white seasame seeds, wasabi, spring onions and yam went perfectly together, such a perfect dish for summer. After mixing everything together, the soup became sticky thanks to the yam and cling to the udon noodles for you to taste it. Definitely a must try in hot summer day. The prawn tempura was crispy on the outside and tender and fresh on the inside, egg plant was so juicy once you bit into it. The chef said they grew their own tomatoes so please make sure to try anything with tomato in it including the tomato chuhai. Such a pleasant dinner and wonderful owners, definitely will come back again!
View on GoogleWhat makes food good is the people that prepare it, the place where you eat it, the feeling you get around yourself, the words that you spend with the people close to you, and then the taste, all of it here is amazing. This place was one of the best I had throughout all of Japan

View on GoogleHeard from an acquaintance that it's good and went to try it out (^-^) What I ordered this time was Zaru Udon 800 yen Large noodle portion 200 yen Meat Udon 1000 yen Tororo Konbu 100 yen Tempura Platter 1100 yen The noodles are slightly thin. Zaru Udon Smooth and has just the right firmness Delicious (^-^) The hot meat udon broth I really like it. The noodles are also good at first, but for people who eat slowly, the noodles tend to get soft easily, so the end part might feel a bit soggy. Vegetable tempura is also Delicious (^-^) Chicken tempura was so-so. Stuffed! Thank you for the meal ✨ Parking lot 2 spaces in front of the restaurant Otherwise coin parking nearby.
View on GoogleFinally was able to visit the farmer's udon shop I've wanted to go to for a long time. Arrived at 1:30 PM on a rainy weekday, there is parking space for about 2 cars in front of the restaurant. If full, there was coin parking a little further ahead for 200 yen an hour. Right upon entering the shop, I was prompted to sanitize my hands at the entrance. Nostalgic w I was impressed that hygiene management is properly maintained. The seats are 3 tables for two and 9 L-shaped counter seats? It's not very large. Orders for two: Kitsune 800 yen Tamago kake gohan 200 yen (set price) Homemade pickled plum 100 yen Sweet potato tempura 100 yen Pumpkin tempura 100 yen Ankake tamago toji 800 yen The udon bowl that was brought out was deep with plenty of noodles and broth! The noodles are thin, easy to swallow, and easy to eat, the kitsune fried tofu is large, and the food is overall very filling. The first half was eaten with the fried tofu, and the second half changed the flavor by crushing the pickled plum to eat it as ume udon. This homemade pickled plum was an old-fashioned salty rural pickled plum that I liked so much I wanted them to sell it! After eating the noodles, I put the tamago kake gohan into the broth to make an egg-dropped rice porridge (zosui) and deliciously finished it all. Is it run by a family? The conversation with customers who seemed to be regulars was pleasant and I felt it is a loved restaurant.
