Located in Sakai City, Mingei Yakiniku Suzutei is an ultra-commoner's yakiniku restaurant long loved by locals for its Showa-retro atmosphere and overwhelming value for money. Inside, the interior shows its age, and background music plays nostalgic 70s to 80s kayokyoku (popular songs), spreading a space where time seems to have stopped. The biggest feature of this restaurant is that because it doesn't use smokeless roasters, smoke fills the air in billows the moment you start grilling meat. Getting odors on your clothes is guaranteed, but many fans find this fun, like an "indoor barbecue," and for those who can't get enough of this wild atmosphere, it's the ultimate setting. Overall, the meat is thinly sliced, but in return, it is offered at affordable prices, making it wonderful for families with growing children. The popular harami (skirt steak) is especially tender and delicious, and whatever you order, it has a reputation for having top-notch value for money. Also characterizing this shop is the mama's special homemade sweet sauce. This sweet sauce, combined with the thinness of the meat, whets your appetite and makes you unable to stop eating rice. It's a popular restaurant that is always bustling on weekends and such, and although there are plenty of seats deep inside like tatami seating, you should note that table seats are limited. It's a famous Sakai eatery that has even been featured as a filming location for celebrities and TV stations.
View on GoogleShowa-style interior and Showa music ♪... Amidst a very nostalgic feel, I was fully satisfied with the delicious meat The staff are also very kind Payment is cash only, so it would be appreciated if they had cards or QR code payment They are closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, but it seems to change depending on the month, so it might be better to check before going
View on GoogleFirst visit. Cheap and delicious!! Truly cheap and delicious!!! Makes me feel disappointed that I don't live in Sakai City. The sweet original sauce also brings out the deliciousness of the meat, and you can adjust it with garlic or spicy miso. Certainly a completely different concept from modern shops equipped with smoke-exhaust systems When you want to "eat meat," go dressed in clothes you don't mind getting smelly.
View on GoogleStrong Showa vibes. Notices are plastered everywhere, and it's full of celebrity autographs and photos. The exterior looks narrow, but once you step inside, it's surprisingly spacious. The price was about half of what it costs to go and eat at a regular yakiniku restaurant. However, the accumulation of smoke is intense. Basically, the surroundings feel white and hazy. We enjoyed the meat deliciously. The sauce is very sweet. The staff seemed extremely busy... the meat was a bit slow to arrive... but hey, it's cheap so it's within a tolerable range
View on GoogleWent after a long time Smoky, smoke-filled style Cheap prices Meat quality is about the cheapest meat from a butcher shop The set menus are amazingly cheap It's nice that water is served in a pitcher
