The best ramen I ever had in Japan!
View on GoogleA Tokushima ramen shop located in front of the Nakamozu Campus, heading from Nankai Shirasagi Station toward Osaka Metropolitan University. During lunchtime, it comes with rice and a raw egg. At other times, you can enjoy Tokushima ramen with a complimentary raw egg service. Characterized by a slightly sweet soup often described as sukiyaki-style.
View on GoogleRamen No. 121" Tokushima Ramen, Searched for local ramen hits and came to the nearest one here. In front of the south gate of the Prefectural University Nakamozu Campus. Sorry for only knowing Kinchan Ramen by Tokushima Seifun when it comes to Tokushima ramen 😰. On a weekday lunchtime, I intentionally shifted the time and entered past 13:00. The narrow interior had 7 or 8 customers ahead of me, probably students. I sat at the back of the counter. Starting from "What's the difference between 'Gachi Tokushima Ramen' and 'Marutoku Ramen'?" ※ Gachi Tokushima Ramen / Tonkotsu base with sweet and spicy dipping soup. Rich taste. Please feel free to use the egg. Some reviews give it low ratings, though... ※ Marutoku Ramen / Tonkotsu base with seafood soup. Well, Setouchi ramen, I guess. Ordered "Gachi Tokushima Ramen Large" with the complimentary small rice. Being a big eater for an old guy, when the bowl was served, I asked, Wait, this is the large, right? ※ Soup / Tonkotsu base with indeed a rich, sweet and spicy soup. Literally a sukiyaki version of ramen. There's a raw egg on the counter so I put it in for now. Combined with pork belly, deliciousー! ※ Noodles / Medium-thin, square, slightly wavy noodles. Firmness is just right. Since I originally prefer a punchy flavor, the rice goes down really well. Eating soup, noodles, rice, pork belly, soup all at once made the rice run out. Please give me a rice refill~ If I can drop by next time, I wonder if Gachi Max would be good? But since the noodles might get soggy, maybe a kaedama (extra noodles)? Today's lunch felt less like "I ate delicious ramen" and more like "It was a delicious lunch". Things like the counter chairs being too high and hard to sit on, or the rice being a bit clumpy, didn't matter anymore. Thanks for the meal~. Before writing a review, I asked AI and it said "There are likes and dislikes". Glad I like it 😁. The shop isn't large, so it must be tough when it gets crowded.
View on GoogleMarutoku Ramen Shirasagi Branch" ▫️ Higashi Ward, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. Near Shirasagi Station. ▫️ No free parking. ▫️ Pay-after-eating system, PayPay accepted. "Gachi Tokushima Ramen" 800 yen. ▫️ Small rice complimentary until 14:00. ▫️ Complimentary raw egg service. [Soup] A rich soup typical of Tokushima ramen, like a thick sukiyaki style. [Noodles] Medium-thin straight noodles with high hydration and a springy texture. [Toppings] Pork belly, onions, half-seasoned egg, nori seaweed, green onions. Delicious soup on its own! However, it doesn't blend very well with the noodles. Naturally, a flavor that goes well with rice. Complimentary until 14:00, so a must-have. Low hydration, high surface area, snapping noodles would probably fit well. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA restaurant where you can enjoy various tastes of Tokushima ramen. Speaking of Tokushima ramen, it's characterized by a sweet soup, but they make daring arrangements like making it spicy, serving it as tsukemen, or mazesoba... and you want to try them all. Anyway, I chose "Gachi MAX" on this day. It has a Jiro-like hearty volume, and the fact that the price doesn't change whether it's 250g or 375g gives a great sense of value. The garlic has a strong punch, there are plenty of vegetables, and the eating satisfaction is totally a "This is it!" moment, making me extremely satisfied! Since raw eggs are free, it's nice to drop one in according to your preference. The egg's thickness matches the sweet soup very well 😋 A type of ramen you occasionally get an irresistible urge to eat, and a repeat visit is mandatory. Payment supports PayPay, and the interior had infection control measures in place, allowing me to dine with peace of mind.
