Recommended for those who want to finish lunch quickly with soba. The portion of soba is on the smaller side, so men are recommended to order the large size (+150 yen) The tempura was also crispy and delicious. The sweet dipping sauce makes the soba go down easily. The interior is a cozy shop with about 6-8 seats, so it's not suited for large groups. Be careful as this is different from the chain restaurant Kisoji!

A shop right next to Mandai. I had walked past it until now because the exterior made it hard to tell if it was popular, open, or closed. I decided to go after hearing it was delicious and ridiculously cheap! When you slide open the heavy door, on the left are 3 two-seater table seats, and on the right are 4 tatami seating tables, I believe. There's a polite proprietress and someone who looks like the master in the back kitchen, and they seem to run the shop together as a pair. Surprised by the menu! The "Kisoji Soba", which shares the shop's name, is 450 yen. Tsukimi soba is a mere 300 yen!! Oyako-don is 430 yen, kitsune-don is 430 yen—the prices are really cheap! Large size is plus 150 yen. I ordered kamo-nanba for 400 yen and kayaku gohan for 250 yen. The other person ordered tempura soba for 550 yen and tanin-don for 460 yen. Total for two people: 1660 yen!! If you go to a slightly nice soba restaurant it costs 1500 yen per person, so this is really cheap. kamo-nanba had plenty of white leek and chunky meat that was tender and delicious! As tender as chicken. The soba is soft, easy to swallow, and the broth is delicious ✨ The broth is so good you'll want to drink every last drop. The kayaku gohan had a slightly strong flavor, but included carrots, mushrooms, etc., and went great with the soba. A shop I want to keep visiting. I think I won't post it on Instagram because it would be a trouble if it actually became super popular lol Shinshu Soba Kisoji-sama Weekdays 11:00-15:00 Weekends & Holidays 11:00-15:00, 17:00-19:00 Ordered Menu ・Kamo-nanba 400 yen ・Tempura Soba 550 yen ・Tanin-don 460 yen ・Kayaku Gohan 250 yen

Visited after learning about it from a follower's review. Even though I knew in advance from reading reviews, I was first startled by the cheap prices on the menu. It's at a level where I worry, "Is it okay in a world where prices for things are rising this much?" w My order was katsudon (580 yen incl. tax) and mini kitsune soba (200 yen incl. tax). My wife ordered oyako-don (430 yen incl. tax) and mini kobu soba (200 yen incl. tax). What surprised me even more when it was served was that the mini soba was so large it wasn't mini! Not exaggerating, it passes for a regular size. And this is 200 yen including tax 💦 Moreover, it's not "cheap for a reason," but as other reviewers have noted, you can clearly tell it's carefully prepared. The tonkatsu wasn't pre-cooked either; I could hear the sound of frying coming from the kitchen (we were the only customers since we entered at 2 PM). The seasoning of the fried tofu in the mini kitsune soba was also very good. There's no parking lot and the location doesn't seem particularly great, but there's a good reason why they've been operating for many years. By the time we finished eating, there were 4 other groups of customers besides us. When I go near there again I will revisit, so I want them to keep going even if they raise prices.

Went to eat lunch. The door was closed, so I opened it timidly and found out they were open. When I looked at the menu wondering what to eat, I was shocked at how cheap it was. Had the tempura zaru for 600 yen. It was delicious. However, for a heavy eater, it might be a bit small. Better order a rice bowl or something alongside. Even so, it comes out to just over 1,000 yen, which is normally cheap. Will go again!

The other day, I saw on some SNS that it was a delicious and cheap shop and thought I wanted to go~ When I heard a friend say on the holiday, "There's a cheap and delicious shop," it turned out to be the exact same shop, so I went right away. Went in front of the shop, and while it's the kind of shop where you wonder, "Is it open?", the Noren curtain was hung out, so I opened the door just in case and it was operating. Small table seating and tatami seating on the opposite side. Sat at a table, looked at the menu; set menus were also posted on the wall, but today is an exploratory visit, so single item + single item: ordered tempura zaru and egg bowl (tamago-don). Since there were several groups of customers ahead of us, we waited a little, but the tempura zaru came first. The tempura has 2 shrimp, shishito pepper, nori, and the soba is a bit small, but delicious. Soba-yu (soba boiling water) is also included. The egg bowl is also slightly small, but soup-soaked with a strong flavor, feeling nice. As single item + single item, it was a so-so volume. Just as my acquaintance said, it was a cheap and delicious shop. Realized later, it seems you can also order large soba on the menu, so next time I'll do large soba maybe have kayaku gohan too? #UenoshibaGourmet #ShinshuSobaKisoji #TempuraZaru #TamagoDon #CheapAndDeliciousShop
