The times you can go inside the capybara enclosure are fixed, but entry itself is free, which is great. The bamboo leaf feed costs 200 yen. During the capybara interaction time, the peacock had wandered off somewhere. If the capybaras are in the mood, you might catch them bathing in the hot spring?! The capybaras are calm and let you touch them while staying still, so even kids around 1 year old could interact with them. Even when they move, it's slow, so it's not scary.
View on GoogleThis Capybara House is in Sakai City, Osaka. It's one section of Harvest no Oka. Harvest no Oka also has various other attractions like swan boat rides, horseback riding, sheep petting, and a simple aerial obstacle course. (Everything other than Capybara House costs extra, though...) Among all of them, this place is especially popular — during the capybaras' snack time, so many people come that a line forms. During snack time, you can feed the capybaras snacks, touch them, and get hit with their "gimme gimme snacks" attack. There are few places in Osaka where you can see and touch them this up close, and it's full of nature, so I think it's a really nice place.
View on GoogleInteraction sessions are held twice on weekdays and three times on weekends and holidays, and they're so popular that quite a long line forms. They're very friendly, and it's adorable how they even make eye contact when you point a camera at them. It lasts about 30 minutes, but even so it felt like not enough time.

View on GoogleThe capybaras taking a bath were sooo cute.
