During a recent dinner visit with my family, I had the opportunity to try the cold udon at this restaurant for the first time. I was impressed by the texture—the noodles were smooth and had an excellent firmness to them. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was attentive, enhancing our overall experience. The variety of menu options available is impressive, making it clear why this place is popular. The flavor was truly delicious and left a lasting impression. I'm already planning to return to explore more of their extensive offerings. The combination of great taste and a pleasant environment makes it a spot worth visiting again.

View on GoogleSakai's udon crowned number one in Japan. This is a talented shop run by an owner with 30 years dedicated solely to udon, who won the nationwide championship at the All-Japan Udon Decisive Battle. Handmade from flour every day, their homemade noodles focus on being freshly cut and freshly boiled, letting you experience the sweetness and aroma of Hokkaido wheat. The uniform noodles made possible by machine rolling have a strong firmness, chewy texture, and smooth throat feel, which is personally my absolute type... Plus, you'll be glad to know large noodle portions are free! Though it's a popular shop that is almost fully booked even on weekdays, they have a parking lot fully equipped, which is a blessing for car guys like me (laughs). The item I had this time, Their #1 popularity "Tama Katsu Curry Udon" pairs spicy curry infused with broth umami with freshly fried cutlet and rich egg exceptionally well!! And the "Kuroge Wagyu Meat Tama Bukkake Udon", where the umami of Kuroge Wagyu intertwines with the firm, chewy noodles, Is recommended for the upcoming season!! It would be a waste to stop at just the udon, Their rice bowl menu items are also exquisite, and the crispy tempura goes great with the sweet-savory sauce—definitely something you should try. *For wheat allergy sufferers All menu items can be changed to the gluten-free (wheat-free) rice flour noodles "Sanukigoe". 【Menu ordered this time...】 ■Tama Katsu Curry Udon ¥1,490- ■Kuroge Wagyu Meat Tama Bukkake Udon ¥1,530- ■Kiwami Wanpaku Tendon ¥1,480-
View on GoogleI'd been curious about it for a while, and finally used it for the first time in May 2026. I had the "Recommended?" cutlet curry udon, and it was very delicious. The broth-infused curry udon, the slightly soft noodles, the piping-hot and crispy tonkatsu, and the egg topping—everything was delicious. The menu is also extensive, and the evening menu (I think?) seemed to include "Udon Suki" and "Motsu Udon Hot Pot". It gave a favorable impression, as the manager and all the staff seemed to be running the place with utmost sincerity. Recommended. 😊
View on GoogleVisited around 13:00 on a rainy Saturday. There were 2 groups waiting ahead of me, but I got seated in about 10 minutes. Sat at the counter and ordered the most popular Tama Katsu Curry Udon and Curry A Set. Since large udon portions are free, naturally I went with the large portion. The bowl arrived in about 15 minutes, and the nice aroma of curry and the tonkatsu whet my appetite. An egg separator comes with it so you separate the yolk yourself and place it on top of the cutlet. First, slurping the udon: smooth and chewy, a deliciousness different from Sanuki. And the large portion is quite voluminous. As for the cutlet, it's cut into very small pieces making it easy to eat. The soup lacks a bit of punch, but using the curry flavor-changing condiments brings out a startling amount of richness. Adjusted it to my liking and finished the udon. After that, I dropped in the rice from the A Set and made curry zosui—delicious~. Slurped it down deliciously today as well. Thank you for the meal.
