Nice food and friendly customer service as well as reasonably priced.
View on GoogleWent with family on a weekday evening. (brought a baby) They graciously accepted our phone reservation made on the day, even for the last seating. It was run by a family, but it was authentic Chinese cuisine. The taste was solid too—this is true town Chinese (machi-chuka)! I found the dish of fried pork with sweet starchy sauce very innovative. The gyoza, fried rice, and shrimp chili were all very delicious. There was also a large company banquet so the interior was very lively, but when the group left, the staff member went out of their way to come over and apologize, saying "sorry for being noisyー". It was a good shop that also considers its customers. I want to go again! Next time I thought I'd order a bit more game-meat style dishes. Looking forward to it.
View on GoogleAs someone who has visited over 20 malatang shops, this is the most delicious and cost-effective malatang shop (Chinese restaurant) I choose. Although it was near my house, I never had the opportunity to go. A malatang banner was up, and I entered looking forward to eating malatang in the neighborhood. The interior was very clean and there were Chinese customers. Since I came alone, I was nervous, but the clerk was very kind and it helped. Malatang wasn't a style where you pick ingredients, but felt like ramen, yet it had a high sense of satisfaction with lots of ingredients commonly found in malatang like rainbow balls, wood ear mushrooms, and bubbly noodles (bounmoja). And above all, the volume is hearty and the taste is ridiculously delicious. Whenever I go to malatang shops, I usually end up spending about 2500-3000 yen at places charging 400 yen per 100 grams, so I was slightly worried if it would be enough, but that was needless worry. There were plenty of vegetables and it was truly delicious. To have such a delicious and cost-effective malatang shop nearby! From now on, I might frequent it. It was so delicious that, despite being socially awkward, I was so moved I told the clerk on my way out that it was delicious. To everyone at the shop, thank you for the truly delicious malatang.
View on GoogleTown Chinese No. 221" Reviews over two parts ① A Chinese restaurant that feels a waste to call an "Authentic Sichuan Cuisine" Chinese shop located on the boundary line of Fukai, Horikami, and Hatta in Sakai. Spicy and numbing "Sichuan Chinese" is the base, but there is also a display of "Northeastern Cuisine" on the menu. Cuisine from around Jilin Province, north of Beijing. Stronger soy sauce flavor and rustic taste compared to Beijing cuisine. Purely my personal delusion, but the chef was likely born near Jilin Province and trained at a Sichuan cuisine restaurant. Sorry if I'm wrong. Ahaha lol. * Mapo Tofu / Numbing and spicy but strong soy sauce flavor. The color is reddish-black and quite numbing-spicy. Massive volume. The fried chicken coming with lunch is crispy and crunchy. Today it was the daily special and 900 yen. * Sanlang Mian (Hot and Sour Ramen) ordered as a single item, 980 yen. Characterized by peanuts from Gong Bao Ji Ding being fried and put in a sour-spicy ramen soup. "This is super tasty". The noodles are probably ready-made but thin wavy noodles, ordered firm and just right!. A bit extravagant for lunch, but satisfaction is 120%. * I thought I was good with numb, sour, and spicy, but with the double punch of Mapo Tofu & Hot and Sour Noodle, my mouth is overflowing (lol). Behold authentic China. Is this Japanese-arranged? The shop is bigger than I thought and looks like it could hold a large banquet. There's no glaring flashiness like around Namba so you can relax, and the restaurant's young lady looks like Ran-chan from the old Candies, and her fluent Japanese. Authentic Chinese in a place like this is rare. I'll take many photos and post all of them. ~ Various Pay payments accepted. ② "Yakisoba Set Meal" / "Mu-shu-ro (Stir-fried pork, egg, and wood ear mushrooms)" Yakisoba Set Meal / The noodles are the same noodles as the Hot and Sour Ramen. Thin noodles but with a firm bite, completely my preference. Since it's a daytime service lunch, it doesn't have shrimp or the like, but it wins on texture. Not gooey/clunky and makes you use your chopsticks. Mu-shu-ro (Stir-fried pork, egg, and wood ear mushrooms). Some shops call it musuro, which is an error when converting pronunciation to katakana. Includes cucumbers which other places don't have, close to traditional rustic cooking. Well, in Japan it's like a miso soup loaded with ingredients. Both have volume, Reconfirmed that it's an establishment to my liking.
View on GoogleI walked past it for years and many times, but the parking was hard and for some reason I never entered once. I had Tantanmen in the noodles and half-fried rice set (1000 yen). It was extremely delicious. I want to try other menus too. There are authentic menus so I wanted to go at night as well.
