Out-and-about lunch for the day ✨ Higashi-ku, Sakai City, a location far from the station, but this is one of my absolute favorite town Chinese (machi-chuka) restaurants in Sakai 👍 It was quite a long time since my last visit, but it had the same homey atmosphere, with the elderly master energetically tossing the wok, and an elderly female staff member, likely the proprietress, welcoming us with warm customer service 😊 What I ordered was, of course... 🍴 Special Lunch 1000 yen tax included → Only 100 yen more expensive than before 👌 The contents of the special lunch are sweet and sour pork, fried shrimp, chop suey (happosai), egg omelet, with rice and soup ✨ A stable taste that makes me feel nostalgic for the days I used to come here before ❤️ Both the sweet and sour pork and chop suey are delicious 👍 I also had gyoza (350 yen) on the side for a satisfying lunch 😆 I really want them to keep going for a long, long time, and I'll come back to eat again ✨ Thanks for the meal 🙏
View on GoogleDate and time used: February 4, 2024, around 12:45 PM to 1:20 PM. Red counter is great. The classic style of a town Chinese restaurant. The counter chairs are nice. The clattering contact sound of metal and concrete. Hearing that sound after a long time makes the chairs, floor, and tables seem to speak out saying, "We're still active!" Parents and kids are great. Family customers can eat in peace, creating a harmonious atmosphere. For food, I had the special lunch, and my wife had the ramen and gyoza set meal. If two people are going, this ordering method lets you share and eat the largest number of dishes, making it a great deal. The soup of the special lunch has a mild hint of star anise. Oh, you're putting this here? It feels like getting hit with a light jab brushing against the tip of your nose, but it's not bad. The egg omelet features a Chinese dashi like Wei-Pao, letting you enjoy good craftsmanship. The fried rice is simple yet delicious, and the ramen has a light flavor. Delicious. It's delicious, isn't it? And nostalgic. It brings back the excitement of going to a Chinese restaurant in childhood. Satisfaction with the restaurant is close to 100 points, but the only regret is the parking issue. If only this were improved, it would rank #1 in my personal town Chinese rankings. Revisiting is certain. Next time I'll go by bicycle, perhaps.
View on GoogleSeeking yakisoba, today's town Chinese again The interior is small with a counter and two 4-person tables Sitting at the counter and looking at the menu, there is no yakisoba set meal Even though I should have researched it... So I ordered a large yakisoba and rice. Looking back to see if I made a mistake, the words "yakisoba set meal" were on the wall... Since I'd already ordered, I thought "it can't be helped" and waited for the food. Looking at the served food, even though I ordered it a-la-carte, they gave me soup and pickles. Mistake turned out right; I fully enjoyed the yakisoba and ate deliciously.
View on GoogleChinese No.115" With many old agricultural reservoirs remaining, once you step into the village, you lose track of east, west, south, and north in Bodai, Sakai. There are relatively few small companies, and it gets full right as it opens at 11:00, making it impossible to take photos lol. I thought it was a slightly larger shop, but with 5 counter seats and two 4-person tables, it's a small shop that throws in the towel at max 13 people. An old-fashioned Chinese restaurant run by an old man, old woman, and daughter (?). There seems to be an upstairs staircase, but it says 2nd floor karaoke. Lured by reviews and photos of mapo tofu, I entered the shop. Among what seemed to be all regulars, being a first-timer made me feel a bit out of place, but since I used to work nearby in the past, the shop looks somewhat familiar. Ordered "Karaage Set Meal / Mapo Tofu A-la-carte". ・Mapo, very sweet / but lots of minced meat and huge volume. ・Chicken karaage, slight tempura aroma / is there a difference in the oil? ・Mini ramen, perhaps due to the sweetness of the braised pork transferring to the soup, it's strangely sweet. Is it the original soup? It's a mysterious taste that doesn't feel like a double broth with pork bone like basic Chinese dashi. Served as a soup substitute for the set meal, it being lightly flavored makes me care about it even more. Semi-pros, please tell me (lol) Either way, it has a basic flavor difference from previous Chinese restaurants. A review-trap shop where people either get extremely hooked or don't. Customer service has such a great atmosphere that it makes you want to go again. While eating, the obachan said, "If you can't finish it, I'll pack it in a bento box for you," which is the first time since Happotei in Tamade—a down-to-earth Chinese restaurant. But I finished every last bite. By the time I paid, a queue had formed outside the shop. When I can go again, I'd like to try the fried rice. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleTown Chinese 🙆 A shop run by a family An outrageous price of 350 yen for ramen 🍜 in this day and age lol A local interior that gets bustling in daytime The entrance is narrow, so wheelchairs and the like are impossible. The interior is simple with about 5 people at the counter and maybe 3 table seats 🤔 Portions are large. The taste is heavy seasoning typical of town Chinese. The beer was Asahi Super Dry. Can be used for town Chinese drinking too, but the beer is a bit pricey. The food feels super cheap. Most customers ordered sets. The volume was spot on 🙆
