【A kind owner and wonderfully delicious soba】 A soba restaurant with a few counter seats Tsubugai chanja is perfect with bottled beer The soba is thin yet wonderfully firm and springy First try it plain, then with salt; don't dissolve the wasabi in the tsuyu—place it on the soba and slurp Even the sobayu is delicious ※The owner works alone, so you'll wait when it's busy ※Cash only
View on GoogleAn authentic soba restaurant quietly tucked away in an alley in Ebie, Fukushima. Counter seating only, and apparently no reservations. The owner is a little reserved, but kind. The soba is very delicious, and the kaeshi is nice too. Despite the high quality, it isn't very crowded, so you can get in right away. I'll definitely return.
View on GoogleI entered just after 11:30. There were already 2 groups, 3 customers. Inside, there are only about 8 counter seats. A pleasant male owner runs everything on his own. Right then, let's check the menu. There are some nice sobamae options. Then I waited for a good moment and ordered. Here's what I ordered. A rather small portion. But the flavor is incredibly rich. A thick, creamy mouthfeel like fine cheese. Just the right saltiness. Deep umami. A tiny ear-pick spoonful is enough to keep the sake flowing. ・蕎麦屋の出汁の煮たまご The yolk is nicely soft-boiled. Thoroughly infused with stock that has a strong bonito flavor. This keeps the sake flowing too. 〇もりそば Glossy, slightly thin soba. Eaten plain, it has such a pleasant, springy firmness. A clean, refreshing soba aroma gently comes through. This is really delicious soba. A sprinkle of salt... The soba's sweetness becomes much more noticeable. Personally, salt & wasabi were my favorite. With tsuyu... A dry dipping sauce with plenty of umami from dried fish flakes. Dipping the soba in just a little is lovely too. ・蕎麦屋のだしのかやくご飯 Today's rice dish was tororo gohan with grated yam thinned with soba stock. This is delicious too. After I finished eating, the owner served sobayu. That rich, thick sobayu is irresistible. Since the owner works alone and cooks with great care, it takes more than 30 minutes for the soba to be served. I can't recommend it to anyone short on time, but if you want to leisurely enjoy sobamae before tucking into your soba, I think it's a fantastic place. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA hidden gem I've occasionally visited for several years. ○Highball ◎ヤマウニ豆腐 ○Iwashi no tatamiage? ○Soba shochu 帰山 with soda ◎Tsubugai chanja ◎Large serving of karami daikon mori soba ◎Sobayu A hidden soba restaurant I've kept secret all this time. I've been coming every nooow and then for several years. The soba is really high quality. The sobayu is potage-like, thick and silky. It's away from the station frontage in a hard-to-find location that only a devoted soba lover would probably discover. Apparently, the owner worked in sales for 5〜6 years before becoming a soba restaurateur. He makes no compromises with the soba he serves, constantly tasting it, and even grates the spicy daikon only after an order comes in. He's committed to serving the best, sparing no time or effort. For anyone who has never eaten real soba, my one and only recommendation is karami daikon mori soba. Please just take my word for it and give it a try. It's a dish you won't regret!
View on GoogleI found a good soba restaurant near my office~✨ It seems to fill up at certain times during lunch, perhaps quickly filling with neighbors and people who work nearby. I think that shows how delicious and popular it is. The owner handles everything alone, which looks tough, but he's very attentive, and I appreciated that. Next time I'll go in the early evening. Looking forward to it.
