First time landing in Osaka! A specialty restaurant for "Mookata"—Thai-style BBQ—which is still very rare in Japan. Located just a 2-minute walk from Miyakojima Station, [Mookata Specialty Restaurant Yume wo Kanaeru Zou] is a rare authentic spot in Osaka where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat Thai BBQ "Mookata." Mookata is a hybrid dish cooked on a specialized pot bought in Thailand shaped like a Genghis Khan grill, where you grill meat in the center and simmer soup in the surrounding moat. Our highly praised original broth is the "White Mookata," which replicates the soup from a famous Mookata restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand. Boasting perhaps the largest variety of ingredients among Mookata eateries in Japan, we are also proud of our authentic nam chim dipping sauce that even native Thai chefs praise as "delicious!"...

I had Mookata, Thai style BBQ, when I was in Thailand. There was even this big pink elephant god—it was such a cool and magical world!

A miniature Thailand! I was surprised to hear that the interior and all the ornaments are handmade. The mookata is all-you-can-eat. For better or worse, the taste and appearance were of the exact same quality as the mookata you eat in Thailand. The atmosphere was enjoyable.

An all-you-can-eat restaurant in Miyakojima, Osaka for Mookata, my favorite Thai dish. Mookata is a food that combines hot pot and grilled BBQ in one! Visiting again after a while, the broth had been upgraded to a white soup and the deliciousness leveled up even more! I had seen their posters before the opening and was intrigued by the pink Ganesha. When I actually visited, it unfolded into an inspiring space for someone like me who loves Thailand and Ganesha! Even though you're in Osaka, you can feel as though you've traveled straight to Thailand! Moreover, having tried several Mookata spots in Tokyo and Osaka, this was by far the most delicious. Specialty Mookata restaurants are rare, which makes this spot special. The white soup, modeled after the popular white Mookata in Thailand, is incredibly tasty, and there is a great variety of vegetables. Meat and seafood selections are also abundant. The all-you-can-eat format is fantastic. While some Mookata places offer only one type of sauce, this place provides chili sauce, ponzu, yakiniku sauce, and various other condiments, so you can change up the flavors and never get bored no matter how much you eat. The noodles to finish the meal are diverse too; adding the Tom Yum Goong ramen is especially delicious! They had Korean noodles and Thai noodles that you rarely see at other Mookata restaurants! Cilantro ramen was also available. The drink menu carried various Thai beers like Chang, Singha, and Leo! Soft drinks were also well-stocked! Being able to drink Thai iced tea is a big plus. I was amazed to learn that the pink Ganesha and mouse statues decorating the shop were handmade entirely by the owner. The 8 different colored mice are so cute. The shop's concept is "The Elephant That Grants Dreams." The 8 colors of mice represent the Thai day-of-the-week colors; making a wish to the mouse of your birthday's day of the week is said to deliver your wish to Ganesha and grant your dream three times faster. The contents written for the day-of-the-week fortune-telling were surprisingly accurate and fun! Since there are 8 colors of mice, fans supporting their favorite pop idols ("oshi-katsu") could also make wishes to the mouse of their favorite idol's color! I've seen oshi-katsu amulets at Kurumazaki Shrine in Kyoto, and this felt similar. The owner said they want to make this restaurant one of Osaka's "power spots"! Whether you want to eat Mookata in Japan, crave yakiniku, want a hot pot, feel like traveling to Thailand, want to see Ganesha, visit a spiritual power spot, pray for your favorite celebrity, or look for an Instagrammable spot, this place fits all kinds of needs. I will definitely visit again!

I fell in love with Mookata when I first had it in Thailand, but there wasn't any in Osaka!!! While searching, I discovered this place on Google Maps 💡 Walking inside, stairs lined with signs of major stations along Bangkok's Sukhumvit Line welcome you. With the kind, pleasant service from the staff who carry a gentle, mysterious aura, paired with the super delicious Mookata, I felt like I was in Thailand before I knew it 🇹🇭 Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go back!!

Visited a Mookata restaurant right near Miyakojima Subway Station. Open the little pink door, and you're transported straight to Thailand 🇹🇭 Thai train announcements play inside the shop, with Lord Ganesha statues and Thai decorations everywhere ✨ It feels just like stepping into the country itself; anyone who has visited Thailand will find plenty of exciting touches here! Above all, I was deeply moved by the owner's "love for Ganesha" and their caring hospitality to entertain guests. I've become a complete fan of this restaurant. I will definitely be back 😊
