This restaurant serves belt fish in a unagi box style. Very unique. In Osaka, abeno district.
View on GoogleA rare tachiuo-ju (cutlassfish rice box). It's the only lunch item, and super cheap at 800 yen. For +200 yen you can add dashi. It looks like unaju and smelled almost like unaju too. The seasoning is strong; it's not bad, but I felt once would be enough— however, pouring the dashi over it mellowed out the strong flavor and made it delicious, so when you visit I recommend ordering the dashi too.
View on GoogleCame at night for the all-you-can-drink course (6,000 yen) They have delicious sake carefully selected by the owner (including rare brands), and the food is high-level too. The dishes are served as a course, so be sure to make a reservation. I've been to many places said to be delicious, but for this food and drink, 6,000 yen is an incredible price. There are lots of izakaya nearby and places where you can drink cheaply, but since the quality of the sake and food is high, in terms of value it's a really great deal. Not just for people nearby—I think people from far away should make the trip here at least once too. Also, they seem to post events on Instagram where you can drink at a discount, so check it out.
View on GoogleTachijuen Cutlassfish rice boxes near Nagai Park. Not unaju! I came to eat tachi-ju( ゚Д゚)ノ!!! No reservations, so I arrived before the 12:00 opening, but 6 people were already in line and I just barely missed getting in. Waited about 30 minutes to get in, and the box arrived about 5 minutes later w There's only one menu item, so it was served fast. When I opened the box, the charcoal aroma was irresistible♪ Taking a bite~ ( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!! ( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!! ( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!!( ゚Д゚)ウマー!!! (゚o゚;; This is way too good~ The cutlassfish is coated in a secret sauce, rich! The smoky charcoal-grilled aroma doubles your appetite (´▽`)/ヤッター!!! And as expected! Kishu Kinotachi!! The flesh is fluffy, soft, elegant white fish. Carefully prepped so you don't feel a single bone. The secret sauce is strong, but you can still clearly taste the cutlassfish's umami and aroma. Unlike eel, it's less fatty, so it's light and easy to eat, and packed with plenty of fish, totally satisfying (゚∀゚)ブラボー!! The homemade fresh shichimi has a nice kick and a strong aroma; I enjoyed it both as is and with ochazuke, but it went better sprinkled straight on top. And when you make it into ochazuke, the cutlassfish umami and sauce seep right into the dashi. It goes down smoothly and is seriously delicious! The dashi has yuzu in it, so the acidity and aroma keep it refreshing, and I could enjoy it as an elegant, light dish♪ There's also a bone-cracker salad; the dressing is nicely tangy, and the bone crackers are crunchy and well-salted. Perfect as a palate cleanser (´▽`)/ It's pretty pricey, but personally I felt it was worth more than that! From prep to grilling to cooking, no compromises at all; I was moved (*゚▽゚)ノパァーン♪ Thank you for the meal! Tachijuen! Can't go wrong!!!
View on GoogleLucky today and got in right away🤗 On weekdays, lunch🍽️ is only the 「Tachiju」, so once you're seated you just wait and it gets brought out😋😋😋 A super rich sauce and cutlassfish grilled over charcoal, fluffy, crisp, and fragrant! I'm painfully aware of my lack of vocabulary, but all I can say is: this is delicious!🥰🥰🥰 The bone crackers on the side salad🥗 were tasty too😋 And then 「Tachi-mabushi」, hitsumabushi style! This dashi is amazing too👍👍👍 Seriously so good I wanted seconds! I definitely want to go again😍 I'd wanted to go for ages so my expectations were high, but it exceeded even those, impressive🤤
