It’s an amazing museum. All the exhibits feel interactive and very interesting. They’re really cool. On the 10th floor you can view the life size Edo Period Osaka town from an observatory, and you can explore the town on the 9th floor. It’s very immersive and really makes you understand the historical aspects of Osaka. A 20 minute video is also played in the bathhouse of the town that also explains the town and how people lived 200 years ago very well. Finally, on the 8th floor, there’s a lot of miniature models, dioramas, and historical items that show the modernization of Osaka. The museum also wasn’t very busy and was quite quiet. You can even enter the place underground, directly from the metro station, so it’s a great place to go during rainy days. The ticket prices are also very reasonable, so I highly recommend visiting this place.

It is located right next to the subway exit. Tucked away on the eighth floor of a building is a remarkably exquisite museum that recreates the streets and daily life of Japan from centuries ago—capturing even the finest details, such as bathrooms and toilets. The ceiling even simulates the transition between day and night, as well as various weather conditions. Stepping inside, you feel as though you have lost all sense of time and left modern society behind.

We visited the Museum of Housing and Living in Osaka while wearing kimonos, and it was one of our favorite experiences. It's an underrated spot that recreates a traditional Japanese village indoors. The changing lighting and realistic background sounds make it feel like you've stepped back in time. It wasn't crowded, so it was perfect for exploring and taking photos in our kimonos. It's not very big, but it's beautifully designed and definitely worth a visit.

Very cool experience to walk through and be immersed the housing. Gives you a good sense at what a street would be like at that time. The ceiling changing as the sky was very neat. Stick around enjoy some of the video content and take cool pictures.

Containing a life size replica of 1830s Naniwa/Osaka on 9th flr and quaint dioramas on 8th flr, this small museum allows visitors to 'cosplay' with kimono rentals in the machiya replica floor. There's audioguides which only accept cash and I wished there were more english descriptions on the diorama floor. Even then, really interesting to see the modernisation of Osaka depicted here.
