Great okonomiyaki and a very authentic Osaka experience. The food was genuinely delicious and you can see why locals love this place. Just be aware they strictly require one order per person and don’t allow sharing or takeaway. My partner wasn’t hungry and only wanted a taste, which turned into a small cultural lesson for us 😅 I was honestly a bit frustrated at the time, but looking back it was more funny than anything. In the end she managed to sneak one bite while they were closing and everyone just laughed 😂
View on GoogleThis was my first try of okonomiyaki and while it was good, it didnt give me any kind of wow factor. The sauce was overpowering. We had to wait in line for 90 mins for a table
View on GoogleLocal-favorite okonomiyaki. This place has limited seats so expect to wait in queue. The restaurant is a bit hard to find for international tourists. Shokudogai is not a real street for driving, it’s a ground-level hallway beneath JR railway in Umeda area (between Hankyu department store and JR train station).
View on GoogleWe went on a Saturday night and only waited about 20 minutes in line, pretty good! Tried the mix okonomiyaki and their best-seller modernyaki, both delicious and freshly prepared right in front of us at the counter. No surprise they’re featured in the Michelin Guide. The atmosphere is surreal: the train literally passes overhead, making the whole experience iconic and uniquely Osaka. Very much recommended.
View on GoogleThe food is ok and a bit pricy, worth to try if you never try this kind of food before but it won’t be my go again place.
