I LOVED THIS SPOT!!! Meiz Store is such a cute little spot in Nakazanishi, part café, part shop with trinkets and clothes, and it has a really chill, hippie vibe. I got the real matcha latte, and you can tell right away it’s good quality. The color was a deep, rich green and the taste was super smooth with a light natural sweetness and that nice earthy matcha flavor. I also tried the strawberry matcha, which was really good too, the strawberry flavor actually stands out, and it’s still balanced with a strong Uji matcha taste. It felt light and smooth, not heavy at all. The owner was really nice and gave us free samples of their matcha ice cream and a matcha brownie. The ice cream might honestly be the best I’ve had so far, creamy, rich in matcha flavor, and not overly sweet. The brownie was just as good: super smooth, moist, and packed with matcha flavor, with a nice balanced sweetness. I ended up buying some of the matcha powder they use, which comes straight from a tea farm in Uji. You can really taste the quality. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re into matcha or just want to hang out somewhere a bit different.
View on GoogleFor those looking for alternative milk matcha options, this match bar is for you! I had the matcha latte served with oat milk, while resting my feet from the 20,000 (and counting) steps at the counter bar. The owner is so up for friendly conversations. They also have matcha lassi and frappe, made with coconut milk. You’ll never need to miss out on good matcha just because you can’t have dairy!!
View on GoogleThe service was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The vibe was relaxed and perfect if you want a break from the crowd. The clothes are also made in Japan.
