One of the most delightful meals I have had! The store is small and can only seat about 12 people maximum. We sat at the counter and were encouraged to observe the chef as he prepared each dish of our 9 course meal. It was November so all the dishes were fall themed and many of them were decorated with a different fall leaf for each. The flavors of the dishes were wonderfully balanced and had subtle nuances attributable not only to the quality of the ingredients, but also the preparation style. For example, the chef let us compare the ika sashimi which he prepared with a special knife technique vs. the exact same ika sashimi without any specific cutting and the difference in tenderness and flavor were immense. This was probably my favorite dish of the night. The chef also was kind enough to show us each ingredient in its original form as we were eating that specific dish. The couple running the restaurant are both qualified sommeliers and they provided us with a wide range of excellent sakes that perfectly paired with each stage of the meal. This place is a true gem and it is likely not long before it will become difficult to get reservations. I recommend people to visit soon while it is rather unknown.

Konatsu is an authentic Japanese restaurant. The chief is the owner and puts his heart and soul into his food. He combines traditional Japanese cooking techniques to create subtle but profound flavors. What I love most about the food is the sauces do not dominate the flavor but rather enhance the flavors of the meat or fish. For example the first dish posted in my pictures is a type of roast beef. The sauce is the the first thing I tasted but it was followed by the taste of the roast beef and finishes with a subtle taste of vegetables. The textures of all the dishes somehow also changed the flavors. Not picture here but he used a technic I’ve never seen before. He sliced the raw squid in such a way that it felt buttery and melts in the mouth. He contrasted this against a piece from the same squid that was tough to chew. If you love to drink sake he is also a specialist in sake and a sommelier.

I've wanted to go for a long time, but the timing didn't match and this is my first visit. I thought it was delicious as expected, but the seasoning of all the dishes is good, and it's a shop I want to drop by whenever I go near. Today's fish was also teriyaki of wild amberjack, and the firmness unique to wild fish was perfect for teriyaki and delicious. Sudachi in miso soup, this was also my favorite. I had everything very deliciously.

The rice is delicious! Serving set meals that all Japanese people love. "Konatsu" quietly located in an alley in Shin-Fukushima Second visit. Lunch is only a daily "Ichiju Sansai" set meal. The interior is a simple structure with a counter and 1 private room. Since lunch is a single choice, the set meal is served without ordering once you sit down. Today's ichiju sansai is ↓↓ ・Assorted tempura ・Rolled omelette ・Simmered beef and okra ・Udon First thing you should eat is the rice! Tokushima Prefecture Akisakari cooked slightly soft is exceptional. Today's assorted tempura has delicious summer vegetables, and if you simply eat it with salt, the rice disappears. The soup being udon today is also a welcome surprise. Delicious rice can be refilled once! Please go try it!

An oasis of the stomach between work. Forget work and fill with a sense of happiness. If you want to have a well-balanced and delicious Japanese lunch, this shop. Lunch 1300 yen. No cutting corners. I was surprised by the shine of the rice. Very delicious. Too bad I couldn't get a refill because I'm on a diet. Miso soup is also delicious. Moments when you can think ~I'm glad I was born Japanese~ I can't believe the fault-finding self-proclaimed gourmets who give low ratings for this quality at this price. How can you give 1 star.. I'd like to ask what they usually eat.
