Nice place to grab a coffee and talk, the owners are very friendly and they like babies. Totally recommended place 😊

Edit: they explained I encroached on their space. I apologize if I was in the customer's space. I was not aware. Like any other customer I want to eat in peace, so I understand a staff members concern. BUT I can't imagine that if I were Japanese, I would've been spoken to in that manner. By that, I mean given a not given a reason why instead of a demand. How it was communicated was not professional. Keep in mind KINDNESS is key. Foreigner's are being targeted more by discrimination and microaggressions in Japan more and more lately. (I'll keep my original review up for posterity and acknowledgement of where I could've misunderstood and take accountability. ) (original) Unprofessional, and singled out for being foreign. I went there. While focusing at the menu the staff approached me and told me to "sit straight" I was only slightly ajar. I suspect my (foreign) presence made him or a customer uncomfortable when seated. That's not fair and not my problem. You're supposed to be professional and hospitable. Will NEVER be back.

They do have a proper cafe menu, but the recommendation is the set meals. All the fish set meals are properly delicious. The domestic chicken karaage set meal is Japanese-style, not heavy, and tasty. If you have room, add the dashimaki from the side menu for the best lunch. The owner also runs a kappo restaurant in Abeno, which explains the taste. Even the popular set meals are served all day without a break, so with luck you can get them until around 16:00. It's great that what would be a 1500〜2000円 lunch in Kitashinchi can be had for around 1000円.

First time, popped in while passing by. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. Portion-wise it felt a little lacking.. kind of. There was nobody else in the shop at the time, but water was still self-service.
