This traditional coffee shop with a retro Showa atmosphere sits in 新橋筋商店街, just a short walk from 野田阪神 Station. Enter through the neon-lit exterior and you'll find an impressive interior like an old movie set, lined with sofa seats where you can relax comfortably. The extensive breakfast selection starts at 7 in the morning, with plenty of options such as egg rolls and hot dogs, all carefully prepared. The daily lunch is good value too, and this locally loved spot gets lively at lunchtime. The 「プリンアラモード」 in particular is piled high with fruit and a delight to look at, with firm Showa-style pudding that's fragrant and delicious. The comfortable atmosphere lets you linger over newspapers or manga, enjoying a soothing moment that feels like a little trip back in time. Easy to reach, exceptionally comfortable, suited to casual conversation, and a place you want to go when you can't decide. That's the kind of beloved traditional coffee shop this is.

喫茶ジャコウ, just inside 新橋筋商店街 in 野田阪神, Osaka's 福島 Ward, is packed with retro Showa atmosphere and highly recommended for anyone who wants to relax. The 野田阪神 area has lots of interesting places such as さかい珈琲 and 八坂温泉 too. Their website and Google Maps say they close at 20:00, but they're actually open until 21:00. I share various information about 福島, 天満, and other areas, so check out the YouTube channel kansummer too JAKO Coffee, located just inside Shinbashi-suji Shopping Street near Nodahanshin in Fukushima, Osaka, is packed with nostalgic Showa retro vibes and is highly recommended for anyone who wants to relax and unwind. The Nodahanshin area is full of fascinating spots like Sakai Coffee and Yasaka Onsen as well. Although their website and Google Maps say they close at 8 PM, in reality they’re open until 9 PM. I also share lots of information about Fukushima, Tenma, and other local areas — so be sure to check out my YouTube channel kansummer!

This is a proper traditional coffee shop. It's very close to 野田阪神. I'm grateful it opens early in the morning. The interior is dim, with a design that makes me think it used to be a lounge, and rows of sofas. The television hanging from the ceiling feels nostalgic too. News programs and the like are on from the morning, so you can relax and watch absentmindedly. The regulars lounge around in the same way. An older lady brings the food. She's friendly and nice. There seems to be Wi-Fi too. I've only visited for breakfast, so I've never used it, but perhaps people use it while spending a leisurely afternoon here? It's in the local shopping street and has been loved for a long time.
