Put away your camera and bring a book for this coffee experience and just enjoy the atmosphere. The music was at a nice calm volume and the AC was nice to have to remove the outside heat. The shop was decorated with fun books and knick-nacks. I also tried gesha coffee for the first time. The coffee was expertly brewed bright floral with just a touch of citrus acidity. Staff was friendly and I will come again
View on GoogleMixed feelings about what was during my Osaka stay my favorite place to come and read. It’s very cosy inside, I was greeted very warmly the first two times (around lunch time), and I especially liked the quiet atmosphere where everything is geared to enjoy some quiet time (first time the soundtrack was also just the right volume and great jazz). I’ve been recommending this cafe to everyone I met, until the 3rd visit, in the end of the afternoon, when the owner greeted me somewhat coolly when I wanted to order just food, explaining to me she was the owner and it’s a coffee shop, and one is supposed to also order a drink (they only have coffee and soda). It left a bitter note, and I still recommend this place if you are looking for some household brocante (they have a nice selection), or a place to read - with a cup of coffee. I am grateful to the staff who greeted me the first times and hope the owner understands that I was sad to leave without enjoying one last time her establishment. Perhaps something got lost in translation?
View on GooglePleasantly surprised by how good the Indonesian coffee was. Most books at the shop are in Japanese, so non-Japanese reader should definitely come with a book for a more complete experience.
View on GoogleThis is an introvert’s paradise. This shop asks patrons to speak quietly and encourages customers to read books while they enjoy their hand-poured coffee. There is also a no photographs rule, so it isn’t overrun with Instagrammers. The coffee is amazing, and the retro atmosphere is cozy and relaxing.
