Even Ijily Okada would be shocked! Who knew there was a creative Italian diner like this in Miyakojima...?!" The best of both worlds: creative Italian x casual diner. Both drinks and food take center stage. Tucked away in a Miyakojima alley, it has a wonderfully calming vibe blending casual eatery and bistro feels. The appeal lies in the casual ease of relaxing at the counter with a drink. [Restaurant Features] ⭐︎ The 300 yen "small plate appetizers" are simply outstanding ⭐︎ One-of-a-kind dishes coexisting with both home-cooked and restaurant-quality sensations ⭐︎ Gulp it down with the famous "Sakuranomiya Highball" Ordered Menu: Charm (appetizer cover) ◻︎ Cardamom-scented Pickles (300 yen) ◻︎ Bitter Melon and Tuna Marinade (300 yen) ◻︎ Truffle-scented Chicken Ham (300 yen) ◻︎ Squid Lemon Omelet (700 yen) ◻︎ Pistachio and Pine Nut Genovese Sauce (1,480 yen) ◻︎ Matsutake Mushroom & Tamba Chicken Thigh Mince with Soy Cream Sauce (1,680 yen) ◻︎ Sakuranomiya Highball (500 yen) The 300-yen small plate series is just exceptionally high quality. The freshness of cardamom, the bitterness of bitter melon paired with the savory umami of tuna, the truffle-scented chicken ham... every single one is carefully seasoned. The squid lemon omelet has a light citrus acidity that makes it addictive. The pasta has a powerful draw in both aroma and umami, an authentic flavor going far beyond diner-grade food. A great Miyakojima spot where you can enjoy authentic Italian and drinks with the casual comfort of a neighborhood diner. Its versatility is delightful, perfect whether you "just want a quick drink" or "want to eat heartily." Definitely coming back here. Thank you for the delicious meal!
View on Google[Miyakojima, Osaka] Speaking of "Gilgame"... I had a drinking party around Miyakojima that day, and that's where I encountered this restaurant: "Gilgame Shokudo". Without asking anything about where the name came from, just keeping a vague image of it in mind has its own charm. The restaurant is a legit Italian dining spot. 1st floor has a counter, 2nd floor has tables. Orders are placed with the staff. ◆ Squid Lemon Omelet ◆ Bitter Melon and Tuna Marinade ◆ Truffle-scented Chicken Ham ◆ Matsutake Mushroom & Tamba Chicken Thigh Mince Soy Cream Risotto ◆ Pistachio and Pine Nut Genovese Pasta Every single dish was genuinely delicious! An omelet roughly the size of a whole squid served with lemon? This is surprisingly addictive; lemon actually works so well. The bitterness of the bitter gourd provides a nice accent with the tuna and mayo. A must-try for truffle lovers— who knew this combination paired so well! The moist chicken ham has a solid, savory flavor and tastes great. The risotto was also flawless. A perfect risotto with just a slight bite left at the center of the rice. It's wonderful how casually they incorporate ingredients like matsutake mushrooms. As for the pasta, it might be my first time having pistachio in it. The subtle bitterness combined with the rich oiliness of the Genovese was exceptionally delicious. It was a restaurant that made me want to return right away. Thank you for the feast.

The renovated traditional Japanese house exterior immediately catches the eye, and the warm interior lighting gives it a calm, hideaway-like atmosphere. While the first-floor counter was full and lively, this time we headed to the spacious second floor to relax. Centered around creative Italian cuisine, the blackboard lists dishes using seasonal ingredients, instantly heightening our excitement upon entry. The staff provided polite service, showing their commitment to creating a comfortable environment. ~Appetizer (Otoushi)~ A system where you choose your preferred "charm" from the blackboard of the day, which had 8 types that day. After agonizing over the options, I ordered the "Bitter Melon and Tuna Marinade." The mild bitterness of the bitter gourd was coated well with the umami of the tuna, making it a refreshing and perfect starter. The balance of saltiness and bitterness was exquisite, serving wonderfully as a light appetizer or palate cleanser. ~Squid Lemon Omelet~ An omelet that is gorgeous from the moment you see it. The savory taste of squid softly spreads within the fluffy egg, followed by the refreshing aroma of lemon breezing through. Not heavy at all, highly refined in flavor, and a simple yet deeply memorable dish. ~Pistachio and Pine Nut Genovese Sauce Pasta~ Choosing between pasta and risotto, we went with pasta this time. The nutty aroma of pistachio and rich depth of pine nuts rise alongside basil, resulting in a superb finish that is rich yet has a light aftertaste. Overturning the preconception that creative cooking is hit-or-miss, this was a fantastic pairing. The layers of umami unfold more with every bite, offering immense satisfaction. ~Matsutake Mushroom & Tamba Chicken Thigh Mince Soy Cream Sauce Risotto~ A luxurious dish generously topped with shredded matsutake mushrooms. Within the mellow creaminess, the rich depth of soy sauce shines through, and the savory flavor of minced Tamba chicken adds great depth. The matsutake aroma is thoroughly infused into the risotto itself, delivering a soothing fragrance the moment it enters your mouth. A dish that lets you deeply savor the deliciousness of autumn. ~Peroni~ Italian draft beer. Light, crisp, and pairs exceptionally well with creative Italian food. A very easy-drinking pint that blends smoothly without getting in the way of the food's aroma or taste. A restaurant where you can fully experience the fun of creative Italian dining, with outstanding ingredient combinations and balance across all dishes. Being close to the station with easy access, combined with its lovely atmosphere, makes it ideal for a drink after work or a casual date. It was a highly satisfying restaurant that simply makes you think, "I want to come back again!" Big thanks to my foodie friend who brought me here!
View on GoogleMiyakojima, Gilgame Shokudo ✨️ An Italian bar located in an alley right outside Miyakojima Station on the Tanimachi Line. I had visited once before, so this was a repeat visit. I used it as a second stop after dining at Entojo 😊 What we ordered: - 6-Kind Appetizer Platter (650 yen/person) - Pistachio and Pine Nut Genovese Sauce Half Portion (1,150 yen) - Italian-Style Oden: Shirataki Peperoncino (400 yen) Mushrooms (400 yen) - Cover charge appetizer / Otoushi (300 yen/person) *All prices include tax ✨️ Drink Info 🍺 - Peroni (500 yen) - Shochu (600 yen) - Black Nikka (500 yen) - Kaku (600 yen) - Plum wine (Umeshu) (600 yen) *All prices include tax Review below ❗️ ● 6-Kind Appetizer Platter - Fresh oyster and fish sauce lemon marinade - Akiou persimmon and Parma prosciutto - Yellowtail (buri) carpaccio - Seared scallop adductor muscle - Smoked potato salad - Tender simmered chicken liver (umani) These 6 kinds. They had 6-kind and 10-kind options, but we chose this one today. Every single one is styled in Italian fashion and goes amazingly well with alcohol. The quality of the seared scallop and the delightfully rare finish on the simmered chicken liver were especially superb 😊 ● Pistachio and Pine Nut Genovese Pasta ordered as the finale. There were various pasta choices, but I chose my favorite Genovese. The basil aroma was refreshing, with robust seasoning. The pine nuts added a nice textural crunch. We went with a half size this time, but you can also make it 1.5x (+300 yen), so order according to your appetite. ● Italian Oden - Shirataki Peperoncino - Mushrooms They also serve creative Italian-style oden here, allowing you to enjoy a unique spin on oden. We ordered the two items above. The Shirataki Peperoncino is noodle-like konjac prepared peperoncino style. Infused with garlic aroma, it had quite a spicy kick. The mushroom dish contained a variety of mushrooms including king oyster, enoki, and shiitake, submerged in a broth close to Japanese-style dashi. Mushrooms are low-calorie, so I finished it with peace of mind ✨️ ● Cover Charge (Otoushi) Here, they refer to the otoushi as a "charm." You get to choose freely from the charms listed on the blackboard. This time we picked: - Dried fig and walnut mascarpone - Cardamom-scented pickles The mascarpone tasted like a dessert with the figs and walnuts. The pickles had a fragrant cardamom scent, serving as an ethnic-style bar snack. That's all we ordered ❗️ Even though it was our second stop, the food was delicious so we ended up eating quite a bit. While this was a second round for us, it's definitely a place that works wonderfully as the primary stop too. Why not drop by when you're in the mood for delicious, creative Italian cuisine?
View on GoogleThe owner is extremely welcoming and the place is very cozy. The food is meticulously prepared, beautiful, and delicious ✨ The charms (appetizers) and starters in particular make the ultimate bar snacks ❗️ It's compact inside, so going as a party of two is best. If you have more people, you can book out the entire 2nd floor, which also seems like a great option.
