Simply amazing! It's one of Osaka's specialty, the squarish cut of sushi. You'd think it's just a gimmick, but no, there is a difference from regular sushi, and it takes a lot of skill and effort to create the sushi. This little restaurant is ran by an older Japanese couple, and is as authentic as it comes. Though they don't speak English, and the menu is in Japanese, there's all the pictures there so just point and eat. The sushi was so good that I got an additional mixed bowl with shrimp, crab meat and more. It's something to do with the rice they used. There's some tiny fish or some other flavoured bits that just gave the rice the kick that you don't get elsewhere. And the square cut sushi is more than just a gimmick, it's layered perfectly, with shrimp and egg on top of a stepped cut of rice. Most of their customers are locals, and this style of sushi is quite rare since it takes a lot more effort to produce. Plus, the prices are affordable, free tea, and the owners are so friendly! My travel companion speaks Japanese, so the lady owner shared about the different cuts of fish, how they are made and why, and she pulls out a guidebook and walks us through the differences. It's so adorable, and frankly a great experience. Oh, and the utensils they use are also the more traditional authentic type. So, yeah, this is definitely worth a trip for! 6 stars!

Perfect Japanese style restaurant! Professional, delicious, clean, warm, traditional, feel like in the best warm Japanese family culture and professional traditional Osaka food in there. Visited twice in this trip and will sure go again.

The owner don't speak English and I can't speak Japanese. Nonetheless I still think this is the best service I received from my last visit to Japan. This is a Sushi place as Japan as it can be. Take your time, enjoy the place, do not rush. Keep it clean and quiet, please.

This place was few minutes walking from my airbnb. I wish I can give this place more than 5 stars. The sushi is great! The prices were low! It is a local owned spot by a very cute couple! The couple was very friendly and accommodating(was traveling with 8 people). If you are in the area or not, please try this place! You will not regret it I promise!

Amazing quality and pricing. This sushi spot has been around since 1942 with the current owner taking over in the early 70s.
