**★★★★★ ELK Coffee & Pancake** Absolutely outstanding experience at ELK Coffee & Pancake. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, modern, and inviting—bright, airy space with a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile. The pancakes were the clear highlight: beautifully fluffy, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned without feeling heavy. Every bite had that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture paired with just the right level of sweetness. The coffee was equally impressive—smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. Everything arrived promptly and with a smile, adding to the overall positive experience. A perfect spot for brunch or a slow morning catch-up. ELK absolutely delivers on quality, consistency, and atmosphere. Highly recommended and easily a 5-star experience.

Cozy and comfortable café with a lovely atmosphere. The place is run by two women who specialize in hand-brewed coffee and freshly made food. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. The 3D cappuccino is beautifully done, and the desserts are absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

The staff wasn’t so welcoming towards us and was slow with the service, but overall it was a nice experience for us considering the food and the shop’s atmosphere. There was this cozy and tranquil vibe which we enjoyed because it’s a stark difference with the busy streets of Osaka. This wasn’t a random visit but planned - I even reviewed the menu beforehand and decided on what to order, because I chose the restaurant for their soufflé pancake and whimsical latte art lol. While the drink cost while a lot (¥1000 just for the latte decoration if I remember correctly), it was definitely worth it! They’re pretty to see and delicious to eat, so nothing to complain.

Amazing. I was starving and decided to check out Elk and I’m happy that I did! Don’t be deterred by low reviews. I almost went elsewhere but I’m so happy I stopped by! There was a bit of a wait (30 min) but the staff informs you of that right away. I brought a book with me so the wait was no issue. I ordered the strawberry pancakes and they were incredible!!! So light and fluffy. I’ve never had pancakes so amazing. Typically, in the states, I eat them with maple syrup. This came with a strawberry glaze but it was so yummy that I forgot about maple syrup entirely. I had the option of ordering two or three a cakes but I wish I ordered three. That’s how good it was!

Hear me out! After the abysmal coffee next door, this was a breath of fresh air. They use a La Marzocco machine (step 1 green flag for coffee) ✔️. Step 2: they don’t try to do too much with the food; they emphasize their specialty—pancakes—and they do them right ✔️. The Cheese Fondue Pancake is a must-try. It’s the perfect balance of savory and sweet, which is hard to find done this well. Even with the inevitable queue, it’s absolutely worth the wait. While they have a few branches, it still feels like a cozy, independent spot rather than a generic chain—a great escape from the Dotonbori crowds. Pro-tip: Go here for the pancakes specifically. I’ve seen reviews complaining about other random menu items, but that’s a strange way to judge a place whose literal specialty is pancakes. If you didn't try the pancakes, you didn't actually experience the reason to visit! If you appreciate specialty coffee and fluffy pancakes, don’t skip this spot.
